Overview & Reviews
Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.
Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

Past reviews led us to a great car - 2003 Honda Pilot
By bcoops - January 7 - 2:00 amBought this car for my wife. This time I gave her the choice. And what a great choice it is. She is in love with her car. I am getting a little jealous because she mentions to her friends how much she loves "Bob." And to be honest the engine purrs and the ride is smoother than my X5. And speaking about luck, our Pilot was sitting on the dealers lot the day we went there.

Love to drive it - 2003 Honda Pilot
By rushtm - January 7 - 2:00 amGreat firm ride, quite, very little wind noise. Great radio and controls. Turning radius much better than my Ford Aerostar. Stearing is good, I prefer the non-sports car type stearing. Milage is ok. Wood grain stearing wheel looks very sharp. Handles very well in wet slushy conditions. Fun to drive.

Pilot-no problems - 2003 Honda Pilot
By sfisheriii - January 5 - 8:00 pmMy wife drives the car the most, especially in town. I drive on the highway. While the gas mileage is low compared to a sedan, she feels that the in-out comfort and the high view the car affords her are wonderful. The engineers and designers have invested a lot of thinking into the interior design of the car and have come up with another winner. There was one small glitch involving shifting to a lower gear(automatic), but we figured it out.

No Regrets - 2003 Honda Pilot
By App - January 1 - 10:00 amIm prorating the yearly mileage as I have only got 5000 on the odometer at this point. The Pilot still has the fit and finish it did when I drove it off the lot. From a very unpractical point of view, my favorite "feature" of this rig is that I dont see myself coming and going when Im on the road. Its nice being a little unique.

Solid, Good Power ... - 2004 Honda Pilot
By ajwray - December 30 - 11:57 amHaving owned over 10 new Hondas in the last decade this is easily my favorite (prior was the initial CRV). I traded in a Durango (V8) which was getting 11 MPG for the Pilot and the trade off between V8 power and the Pilot is negligible. The Pilot easily accelerates on the highway while being fairly stingy for the MPG (we get 18- 20). We also have a Liberty Sport which is a great 4x4 but this is the SUV which balances family needs, safety, and versatility all in one vehicle. Dont expect to go offroading in this SUV but we just got hit with major snow here in New England and my Pilot cuts through drifts like butter. Many other cars were stuck in the drifts but no problem w/Pilot.

Great Car - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Dee - December 27 - 2:03 pmI have had the suv for 9 months and love it. I havent had any trouble with it. I feel that I got a great car for a good price. I wish the exterior was a little more "trendy" and that it drove smoother, but overall, Im very pleased. I know I will be driving this car for many years because I can rely on the quality and dependability.
