Overview & Reviews
Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.
Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

Great SUV! - 2004 Honda Pilot
By johnaoki - January 25 - 2:00 amI just bought my 2003 Honda Pilot used with 30,000 miles on it. Traded in my 1999 Honda Odyssey. The Pilot so far is a great SUV! Fun to drive, yet it has a luxurious feel to it too, expecially with the leather interior. So far... I love my Pilot!

Thumbs Up from Bob - 2004 Honda Pilot
By Bob Bruggeman - January 25 - 2:00 amUntil I purchased the Honda Pilot, I had always been a "GM" guy. My wife is the one who wanted to purchase the Pilot. I must say it is probably the best vehicle I have ever owned. It is fun to drive and very easy to get around in traffic. I strongly recommend this vehicle to anyone who is in the market for a mid-size SUV.

Honda Pilot Initial Impression - 2004 Honda Pilot
By Piloto - January 25 - 2:00 amA quick initial review based on limited mileage: Overall todate 3350 miles, of which 2721 was a trip that netted 21.571 MPG (including I-81/I-77 VA hills). Steering is somewhat sensitive - actually twitchy if one is used to a less responsive vehicle; road noise on coarse surface roads is high (may be function of tread). Spouse finds it very comfortable.

BEST OF THE BEST - 2003 Honda Pilot
By COPILOT - January 24 - 10:00 amBEING IN THE HONDA BIZ FOR OVER A DECADE I CAN HONESTLY SAY THIS IS THE BEST HONDA PRODUCT MADE. IT SURPASSES THE ODYSSEY AND CRV BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS IN TERMS OF QUALITY AND FIT & FINISH. THE PILOT LOOKS A LITTLE PLAIN BUT MAKES UP FOR IT IN COMFORT AND POWER. MY WIFE AND I ARE COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH OUR NEW PILOT AND HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS TO MAKE...A STRONG RECOMMENDATION FROM VERY FUSSY CONSUMERS!!

Worth The Wait - 2003 Honda Pilot
By Beantowner - January 24 - 10:00 amAfter almost purchasing a Toyota Highlander last year, I held out waiting for the Pilot. Boy, am I glad I did! I have driven a CR-V since 1998, and this is by far an unbelievable change. Some local dealers were charging MSRP plus forced options packages with a dealer markup of over 300% over Hondas suggested installed prices! I shopped around and found a dealer that would let me actually "choose" the options I wanted and they didnt inflate the price. (Honda North in Danvers, MA)

Know what you want - 2005 Honda Pilot
By road rat - January 23 - 9:10 pmJust purchased a Honda Pilot recently. The interior lacks the creature comforts that Toyota gives you - like a front passenger seat that is electric. We like the Pilot vs. Toyota Highlander because it is a bit larger and the 3rd seat can actually seat a person. I still like my Toyota Sequoia better - go with it if you want a smooth ride and dont mind paying big bucks for gas. The DVD entertainment system on the Pilot is great for the kids though.

Dont get a flat on your touring! - 2016 Honda Pilot
By Walter Whitesell II - January 22 - 10:33 pmHonda dealers dont yet have the tires for this vehicle in stock! Our touring has been running on the "doughnut" spare for a week now. The dealer ordered the tire and told us it would be here in a week. They just called and told us that it will be another week due to "backordered" or some foolishness. This will make 2 weeks my wife has had to ride on this cheap spare...not really comfortable with that. They choose a tire that NO ONE carries, dealers or locally. Seriously no one can get tires for this vehicle without ordering. Our dealer Moss Motors has been less than helpful, not even bothering to return a call as promised. Come on Honda! Regretting our new vehicle choice at the moment.

A Perfect Match - 2004 Honda Pilot
By tpitty - January 21 - 10:00 amI found the car to be easy to handle and very user friendly-especially if you actually listen to the dealer when you are being shown the car. Our salesman (George)was very professional and did not do any of that "let me talk to my manager" bull. He fielded all questions very knowledgably and priced the car extremely competitive. We were impressed with him and are impressed with the car. You cant beat the resale or the satisfaction of reliability.

great ride - 2005 Honda Pilot
By lmeyer - January 18 - 5:53 pmThe more I drive my Pilot, the more I like it. Putting in almost 80 mi. daily on Houston highways, I always feel safe, sheltered, and am never exhausted by sometimes stop-and-go traffic. When the roads open up, the Pilot just cruises....

Great big car for the money. - 2005 Honda Pilot
By David - January 18 - 12:12 pmProbably the best quality and package for the price. Been driving the car for about a year and the Pilot offers excellent practicality along with flawless build quality. Good power, although dont expect great fuel economy, it is an SUV after all. Tailgate takes some muscle to close and the styling is rather bland which was somewhat improved in the 06 model. A great car if your fighting the need to buy a minivan and dont want the truck feel of some of the domestic offroaders.
