The car is perfect in every way. It does 0-60 in 7.4 sec. that is also with fulltime 4WD. The comfort is excellent and rides just like a car (very smooth). Its fuel economy isnt so hot (16-19), but thats O.K. The build quality is excellent because its a honda (duh). And the kids love watching movies. It got a ***** (five star) safety crash rating. So now the kids beg me to drive them in the Pilot.

Fell in love after and bought the car after first test drive. Was close to getting the Highlander. Thought this is a better deal given third row seating, sturdier look and feel, better sound system, manly interior design.

  • Never a problem - 2003 Honda Pilot

I bought this car coming from owning a Toyota Sienna Van. I had owned Toyotas for years and years and was nervous to switch, but the third row seat sold me. I have never had a problem with this car in 5 years. I have replaced the tires and the battery, and probably need brakes, but nothing has ever broken down on it. It is roomy, even in the third row. I have had 8 adults in this car several times and everyone survived. The interior was well thought out. Id own another Honda. (I only wish it had rear camera or sensors. - My Honda has a dent in the back hatch.)

I had a ford explorer before but the Honda Pilot is better by far. It has more room and it rides smoothly. I am so glad I bought this car.

  • For 33K, Pilot lacks in quality - 2003 Honda Pilot

Honda owner since 1985... prices have increased significantly but Honda has lost ground in quality category. We sold a Odyssey to purchase a Pilot and are happy with its performance, drive, interior design and versatility. Noticed on our Pilot that the 3rd row seatbelt retainers were installed incorrectly and within 6 weeks we had our first recall (tensioner belt). After 10 months of operating the vehicle weve noticed that the leather on the seats is wrinkling (confirmed by other owners). For 33K shame on Honda for skimping! This is the BEST way to loose long-term customers. Our Odyssey also had leather but never showed the wear this leather has in 10 months.

  • Honda hits a Home Run with the Pilot - 2003 Honda Pilot

When looking for an SUV I researched them all. Without exception, I found the Pilot to be the best bang for the buck. Yeah, its pricey and you probably wont get it for less than invoice plus, but Honda reliablity will help it last a decade. My last Honda Accord lasted 280,000 miles and the Pilot will last just as long, Im sure. Just a non-parent comment: Do your kids really NEED a DVD player in the back? Reading or a sing-a-long is good for them. Dont give in.

High build quality, good mileage for a SUV - 17-22mpg. Versatile interior, excellent for hauling kids to college or trips to Home Depot. Exterior styling a little bland. Nav system is the best I have ever used. Low noise levels, good handling, precise steering for an SUV. Has most of the advantages of a minivan without looking like one. Better value than the Acura MDX.

Comfort and ride are excellent. The ride is car-like and the view is mini van like. smoothness and power make up for lack of options.

  • So much more - 2003 Honda Pilot

I took a Fully loaded 6 cyl. Saturn Vue (with the Honda engine) for a test drive and ended up returning it in 3 hours!!! During my above test drive I drove to the Honda dealership. For the 2K more that I paid for my Pilot I feel as though I got 10K more in value! There was just no comparison in the comfort of the ride and the interior appointments. I love everything about this car. I wanted a SUV that I know has a great company behind it. Reliability is very important to me. We left the dealership and immediately took a 500 mile trip. It drove perfectly.
