Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

Just purchased my second one. Great resale on my 2003 by the way. Superior quality. The most bang for the buck in the SUV market. Excellent AWD system.

  • crap entertainment and touch screen - 2016 Honda Pilot

Do not buy this unless if you can live with crap entertainment system. Very poor metal cone like sound, smudge touch screen. Biggest issue is entertainment turns off when we stop engine from running. When starting engine, all blue ray unit will start the track from beginning. These vehicles are use for long trips. when having a break and starting again, blue ray also start running from beginning. My family hate this thing. Also would you believe it can only play USB drive when only engine is not running. Soon as engine starts, it says cannot read. Very poor quality.

  • Simply amazing - 2009 Honda Pilot

Honda has hit a home run with this. Don’t bother with an Acura MDX, save $10K and get the Honda Pilot with the same features. Ride is powerful and smooth, handles like a luxury vehicle, can carry a ton. Gets decent MPG for an SUV this size. We have the 4x4 and are averaging 18 driving in mostly mountain roads, only 2 mpg less than our Honda Odyssey. Doubt you can improve MPG without decreasing the power, maybe Honda can come up with a hybrid model someday like the Highlander? Couldn’t be happier though. We are military, family of 4, and have many moves left in our career, we need the space and ability to tow a trailer. Buy one – and enjoy. Great job again Honda.

  • Drives like a Honda, what can be better! - 2005 Honda Pilot
    By -

Overall, this is the most comfortable and forgiving SUV I have ever driven. With nary a hitch the designers of the Pilot listened to what SUV enthusists wanted and integrated their needs. Feels solid, handles like a passenger vehicle, (not the school bus), while providing ample torque to merge on highways effortlessly. Leather seats, heated front buckets are exceedingly well made, adding a touch of elegance while maintaining Hondas practical roots. One minor flaw, which only goes to show, Hondas designers are human, is the close proximity of the windshield wiper stalk to the gearshift lever. Every now and then I mistakenly reach for the wiper stalk by mistake, and swish,swish..sigh..

  • Outstanding! - 2009 Honda Pilot

After looking for the ideal SUV and trying the Acadia, Enclave, Highlander and the Outlook we end up with the 09 Pilot. And I am glad I did purchase this SUV. It rides great and it is so roomy inside. Other vehicles had better gas mileage and maybe a little more room in the trunk with 3rd row up, but the leg room for 3rd row was not as good as the Pilot. Also Honda has a better money returned for the vehicle than others. After all my wife and I are very happy with this vehicle.

  • super family suv - 2004 Honda Pilot

This suv is so great with it many comapartments 3rd row seat and comfortability. we leased a second one in Feb 2004. the only added difference which i though was great was the seatbelt reminder bell. After a near fatal accident in a jeep i never leave home without a seatbelt and with the honda pilot even if i forget it reminds me.......A+++++++ All the way. lizzytish in boca raton florida.

  • loving it - 2005 Honda Pilot

This vehicle was selected over some great competition. I have owned Accords in the past and currently own one now. The Pilot drives like a sports car. It is easy to handle and fun to drive. I picked Honda for its reputation. The final justification was a Honda will have problems in 7 or 8 years where a domestic vehicle in the same class will have problems in 4 or 5 years.

  • Great vehicle! - 2005 Honda Pilot

I am 100% satisfied with the Pilot EX. Feels like Im driving a high end car. The vehicle is so smooth and quiet and has plenty of power. Merging and passing on the highway is great. I think this vehicle is the best value for the money in this class. Its also the largest in its class. Plenty of storage space and room for my kids and their stuff.

  • Yes, we love it! - 2003 Honda Pilot

We have owned it less than a week and are headed out for our first real trip today. I love the ride, the visibility, the many interior features, the power, and the handling. I find it very comfortable. My kids love the rear climate control, the entertainment system, and the view from the back seats.
