Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.
Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

By djmassey - June 2 - 2:00 amThe car off the lot is well equipped; however, if youre looking for bells and whistles youre gonna pay! e.g. running boards/ air deflector/ ski rack/ cargo cover/liner/ wood trim/ 6 disc CD changer/ etc./ These can easily set you back another 5 grand or more depending on your ability to negotiate. Bottom line off the lot all the right things are right with this car. You cant go wrong, especially if youre looking for craftmanship, performance AND gas savings!

Pilot review of trip to Vegas - 2003 Honda Pilot

So much more roomy, 5 of us to Las Vegas with luggage, cooler etc., tons of cargo area, was able to see in rear view mirror too. Air is soooo cold, love the center console. Took 7 large basketball players for three days to games, no complaints, even in third row, there feet were squished but they had no problems. Got so many looks when picked up at valet at hotels, people pointing on street, it was great. I love the white and cloth seats, after leather it really is more comfy and cool. My son loves the subwoofer.

By fishhawkey - May 28 - 10:00 amI drive the Pilot from "The OC", up to Lake Arrowhead,(elav 6000), twice per week. It climbs the mountain effortlessly, handles great, and has outperformed my toyota pickup 4x4, 3 suburban 4x4s, and audi quattro in the snow !!!

By Felicia Panzera - May 28 - 10:00 amThis consumer waited since the mid- 1980s for Honda to come up with a roadworthy sport utility with horse power and the same road performance as their other superb vehicles, "curb appeal" if you will, and, finally, a higher end interior design...hence, the Pilot. No disappointments here except fuel economy and the need for a sun/moon roof offered as a standard to make my dream SUV complete.
