Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

I love this SUV but Im going to tell you the few things that I didnt like. Theres not a key lock on the tailgate. You have to always use the remote to open. It feels like a big car, which means you have its not as nimble as I would like. Theres a lot of windnoise when the crossbars are installed. The drivers side window has an automatic roll up mechanism which seems like a safety hazard to me.

  • Seats to die from - 2003 Honda Pilot

I love the quality and solid feel of the car. The stereo sounds great. The seats are to die from. I am 55 and have owned many cars and a truck and these are by far the most uncomfortable seats I have ever had the displeasure to sit in. There is no place to put my feet, so they are usually skewed under the brake pedal or some other uncomfortable place. The front wheel well protrudes into the drivers and passengers compartment area. There is plenty of room otherwise and it looks big inside. The dealer treated me with kid gloves and the salesman even came out to my house to pick me up from my house to drive me to the dealership.

Primarily bought for my wife, currently we have 12000 miles on the pilot and have had no problems. Great features such as the leather seats, DVD, AWD, and definitely a bargain compared to what other SUVs cost and charge extra for.

This is the 4th Honda that I have purchased and it did not disappoint. The ride is the best that I have experienced in a SUV. It is quite and smooth and quick to respond as far as acceleration and turning. The only negative I have found was the fuel economy. Its not bad for an SUV but not quite what I expected from Honda. I average about 17 in city driving and 22 on the road. A similar type of engin in my friends Acura gets 32 on the road. Overall I very satisfied.

I love driving this vehicle. We traded up to get additional seating and storage capacity. We are extemely happy we made the jump to this new model. Anyone who has driven a Honda will be instantly familiar and comfortable with the controls and the handling of this vehicle.

  • 4th one and will continue to buy - 2005 Honda Pilot

This is our 4th Honda, and, because of the quality, resale, and reliability, we will continue to buy Hondas.(Our first was an 88,had 380,000 miles, and sold for $1400!)We were going to wait and buy a used Pilot, but the demand was too high, and there were too many people on the waiting list. We just couldnt resist and bought our 2004.We put alot of miles on our cars because of family living far away, keep our cars, and we dont try to keep up with the Joneses. Our Pilot has made driving very enjoyable and makes us feel very safe on the road. Our first grandson will be born next week, and I feel great about his safety with us! Roomy, efficient, safe, reliable, attractive--Id love to get another!

  • Just bought 2005 Pilot - 2005 Honda Pilot

I bought my 2005 pilot just under a month ago. Originally I purchased the Pilot for its 8 passenger capacity and just thought of it as a good people hauler. It is a very fun SUV to drive. I still have a grin on my face everytime I drive it. I traded in a 95 bmw 325is(very fun car) and I have no regrets. After a month of owning it. I love the way it drives. I do have two compliants though. I cant seem to find the perfect position with the power driver seat. And the steering column shifter takes getting used to. I like have the extra storage space between the driver the passenger seat though.

This Suv turns on dime, it drives as a car. The sound system is nice. Ilove the whole design of this SUV. For the price Hoda Is going to make a killing. The only bad thing is that I wish it got better gas mileage in the city. Other than that this is a good buy......
