Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.
Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

Great if not for a bad transmission - 2016 Honda Pilot
By David - October 1 - 7:55 amI really want to enjoy my 2016 Honda Pilot but I cannot ignore the fact that my car shutters at 35/45 MPH and jolts during deceleration. My local Honda Dealership said they found wrong with it and it might be normal car characteristics. That sounds like a cop-out up for a terribly made car... Very disappointing!

Vehicle of my dreams! - 2006 Honda Pilot

There was no comparison in the features, ride and price of the Honda compared to the Honda. A trip recently was the most comfortable trip by vehicle I have ever had. Honda has made me a buyer for life!

Love my 05 Pilot - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Michael Falls - September 29 - 11:36 amShopped for an SUV to replace a Jeep GC. Looked at Merc Mountaineer and Honda Pilot EX-L. Purchase price was within a few hundered of each other. No comparison, Honda won hands down. Excellent comfort and ride. Third seat works well for small adults/children. Feels large inside. Stereo is great along with sunroof. Drives great in N.E. snowstorms. I am a little disapointed with several squeaks/rattles that have come up during 2,100 miles of ownership. Have trailer tow package and will tow 3,500 lbs this summer.

Great product ruined by infotainment system - 2016 Honda Pilot
By Magnolia - September 26 - 1:44 pmDo not buy a Honda until they replace the current infotainment system! Screen goes dark randomly and often. Back up camera frequently does not come on. Bluetooth hands free intermittently will not make calls and/or drops calls. Dealer replaced system and new one does exactly same thing! No cooperation from Honda. Honda America representative said they have no fix at the current time. Another representative said it could be my phone--IPhone 6splus or carrier--Verizon. Said it may not be compatible even though it works fine about 50% of the time. Car purchased new and now has only 5000 miles. I have filed for arbitration and Honda has suggested I drop the case and then they may be able to offer some help! I will never purchase another Honda.

We love it! - 2003 Honda Pilot

We paid MSRP, but when I compared that to what I could buy an Explorer for, it made my decision easy. The prices were very similar, but the Pilot is a Honda. We love everything about the car from the 8 passenger seating, to the DVD entertainment system in the back. A lot of reviewers feel that the styling is not very agressive, but I think it looks great! Acceleration is good and the sound system is powerful and includes a subwoofer.

Near Perfect - 2003 Honda Pilot

This SUV is everything the reviews said it was: it has good fit & finish, ideal size, nice looks and excellent ride. Having driven Hondas in the past, I do not anticipate any reliability problems down the road.

Great SUV - 2006 Honda Pilot
By Paul T - September 24 - 9:43 amI shopped and shopped for weeks. Being a Nissan fan I drove a Murano, Pathfinder, and then the Pilot. The others had some very good points and did their own thing very well. But the best overall SUV for a family is the Pilot. Pathfinder felt small inside and the Murano looks great but only holds 5 people. the Pilot drives like a dream. Its smooth and pretty quiet, you get some road noise but no wind or engine. I even can sit pretty comfortable in the 3rd row. You can not say that about most of the midsize SUV class. The price was less than the other two and they did not have leather. Great SUV and a great value!! I highly recommend it!

best I have owned - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Doc Smith - September 21 - 1:06 pmI traded my 2003 Ford Expedition at a significant loss to get into this vehicle. We have taked several long trips as a family (with 2 teenagers). Everyone in the family is thrilled with this vehicle. Mileage averages 21/mpg which is excellent - I have owned a Hummer and a Suburban. Handling, acceleration are also excellent.

Great Vehicle - 2003 Honda Pilot

I wanted something with as much horsepower as possible. After exhaustive research, and numerous test drives, the Honda Pilot seemed to be the clear choice. After 8 months, I dont have any complaints. The ride is comfortable, the looks are just right, and I love to pass sportscars on the freeway! Great Vehicle!
