Overview & Reviews
Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.
Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

I love it, but not a minivan replacement - 2006 Honda Pilot
By baron64 - November 26 - 5:32 pmBought the 06 Pilot EXL to replace a minivan. My wife wanted 4-wheel drive capability and I was not sold on the Sienna AWD. Simply not as convenient as a minivan to haul around 3 kids and a lab. Not as much room or comfort as a minivan and the sliding doors of a minivan are a lot easier for the kids to get in and out of. Bottom line - it was a mistake to get the Pilot over a minivan, even an AWD Sienna. With that said, it is still an awesome vehicle and anyone looking for a mid- size SUV should have this as #1 on their list.

Petes Personal review - 2003 Honda Pilot
By Pete J. - November 26 - 2:00 amFlawless, absolutely no trouble vehicle for last 18 months since purchase. Very smooth and comfortable highway cruiser. Would have liked the option of factory heated seats and a power passenger seat as well as a sun-roof option. Did not need or ever use the third-row seating - it shouldve been an option

It Has It All - 2016 Honda Pilot
By Brian Hall - November 24 - 6:42 pmGreat vehicle. Drives like a small truck, just like all other SUVs Ive driven. The 9-speed transmission is very smooth and responsive. The push-button gear shift takes a little getting used to. Wish there was more leg room in third row, but its better than most of its competitors. No problems with any of the tech in the car. Wife does conference calls for work while traveling and has nothing but praise. Kids love the heated captains chairs. Despite my frugal nature, this vehicle is worth every penny and will be enjoyed long after the payments are done.

Saved me from the Mini-Van - 2003 Honda Pilot
By Informer - November 24 - 10:00 amI had been following this SUV since Honda first announced its release earlier this year. With a growing family a larger car was a necessity. My wife wanted a Mini-Van, while I the me image conscious of us wanted something with a little more style.

jack of all trades - 2003 Honda Pilot
By carolaanddavid - November 24 - 10:00 amThis thing definitely has a nice car ride. Very cozy. I like it that darker tint is standard now. Only couple hundred miles into it so far. Got it because couldnt find an Odyssey, which we wanted due to having a 1st child. So far we are glad; can do a lot of different things with it!

New Pilot Envy of Odyssey Owners - 2003 Honda Pilot
By the Pock - November 24 - 10:00 amAfter purchasing my Pilot last Friday, many of my Odyssey neighbors told me they wish they would have known or waited. Two of my neighbors have recently changed their plans from the Odyssey to the Pilot. With all of the seating, and 4WD, it is the best of both worlds. Minor problem. Latch for back stowage does not stay down. Will be replaced under warranty.

WOW! - 2003 Honda Pilot
By kdp - November 24 - 10:00 amJust what I was looking for. Waited four months for order to be fulfilled, but it was well worth the wait. Honda reliability with a ride that my wife describes as "like a big limo." The truck for people who arent neccessarily "truck people." Who needs a minivan? Not me; Im to young to die...
