Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

its a great minivan, with all-wheel drive to boot. Its great for car- pooling to soccer practice, famiy trips and holds tons of groceries in the back.

  • Worth the Wait - 2003 Honda Pilot

Honda hit a home run. Wed been on a waiting list for this vehicle, and it was worth the wait. Classic Honda design with lots of included bells & whistles. Feels more like a car than an SUV - smooth ride, no tippiness, and very solid.

Overall performance and ride comfort is great, sound system not good as expected. Honda sensing a waste of money

  • "Simplify" with perfect reliability! - 2004 Honda Pilot

It is refreshing to get back to owning Hondas...just now recovering financially from owning 1996 Dodge Caravan, and 2000 Volkswagens. Although our Odyssey was nice and convenient, we needed a super durable vehicle for our bad roads-the Pilot has been just that! (Knocking on wood) After 72,000 miles on Texas Hill Country roads (and "off" roads), our Pilot has batted 1000 on reliability and durability. Good luck on finding one lightly used...this one is a keeper!

This is an outstanding suv. Plenty of power, space and comfort. Hauls everything we need, both inside and by trailer. It is very reliable and the build quality is obvious.

  • Honda Dropped the Ball - 2016 Honda Pilot

I want other owners to know that I bought a new 2016 Honda Pilot because I bought the first year 2009 Honda Pilot and drove it to 176k with no problems. I liked the old Honda and bought in to the new Honda because of the safety features and improved fuel economy. The bad I can safely say after driving the fist 2,500 miles with the new Honda Pilot, this car is garbage. The fit and finish is horrible (needed to have two of the plastic panels replaced because they warped), needed to have the entire head unit taken off of the car because of an annoying noise (first 100 miles and two days in the shop), now the navigation system doesnt recognize commands, the stereo is anemic and often crackles and hisses. The only way to stop this is to turn the car on an off. So in a total of one month the car has been in the shop for a total of four days. This in comparison to the 2010 that never had an issue. The good The safety features are great. The lane departure, lane assist, adaptive cruise and front end collision all work great. The econ also works great as I am consistently getting 30 mpg combined city and highway. That being said those are the pluses.

I just bought my third Pilot. I had an 03 EXL-ENT. I got my wife a new 06 with the DVD for the Kids. They love the 9" DVD screen. I was going to get the Ridgeline, but I got another Pilot EXL (different color):) they are great SUV. Everything in it is well built and functional.

  • Best SUV we ever owned. - 2004 Honda Pilot

This is clearly the best SUV that we ever owned. Over the last 16 years we have owned over 30 cars and this is probably the best one overall of all the vehicles. When it comes to SUVs no other beats it. We have had a Durango, Liberty, Passport (both Honda and Isuzu version and CRV (2x). This is the best mix of style, room and functionality that an SUV can have. The third row pulls out easily for when the in-laws come over or the seats fold flat for the runs to the dump. Our Durango spent more time in the shop than on the road so this has been pleasant to fill and go with the regularly scheduled oil change and maintenance. Handles like a dream, even in the rough New England winters.

  • Loving It - 2006 Honda Pilot

I have had my Pilot for 4months And love it. There is so much storage in the front. You get a huge arm console. Inside contains a cell phone charger and a 12v outlet. Under the radio dash there is a sliding door to put more nick-nacks like pens, hair clips and anything else. We have 2 car seats on the sides and I am 55 150lb and sit comfy bw them. For your info, We have the Graco Safe seat behind the passenger b/c At 55 I can not put the drivers seat in a comfortable position, and the seat can not be reclined. We have the dvd system with the car and it works like your dvd player at home. I did not read the directions or watch the dvd movie it comes with. Very easy. It drives like a car.
