Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Great family vehicle - 2006 Honda Pilot

We had an 03 Pilot 4wd with 50,000. Totally truouble free, but so many more features on the 06 with no extra cost! Especially like the new safety features, the voice navigation (with great voice calendar option) the sliding third row so taller kids can now be comfortable in back, etc... We are not yet getting comparable mileage - used to get 17.5, now at 16, but only have 1500 miles on it so far.

  • A Great Midsize SUV - 2005 Honda Pilot

The Pilot is an awesome midsize SUV. Although built like a car, its very sturdy, solid feeling. Very refined. Strong engine power w/smooth transmission. Gas mileage is very good if you dont gun the throttle. With 5 people (some large sizes included) and some light gear, Ive managed to get 21.4 on a 360 mile round trip doing speeds up to 80 mpg. Very good for its size indeed. Quiet on the go. Super visibility and comfort to spare. Good handling with firm but comfortable ride. You should definitely check out the Pilot if in the market for midsize SUV. Glad this one is mine.

This is a very well built SUV. There is plenty of power for the weight and you barely feel the transmission shift. The seats are very comfortable. Plenty of headroom. I am also pleased to find that the fuel economy is very good as advertised. 20 mpg in the city. I have driven and priced all of the competition, this is by far the best deal in a four wheel drive SUV on the market.

  • 2016 Honda Pilot Redesigned - 2016 Honda Pilot
    By -

Love the 2016 Pilot. Rides and handles well. Economic features include idle shut off when at traffic lights or stopped for short periods. Takes some getting used to and was annoying initially. Push button gear shifter and heated seats are a nice feature. Electronic controls for navigation and phone are also voice activated. Good cargo space with rear seats folded down. Would have loved the panoramic moonroof but only available on the Elite model. Overall good value and worth consideration when shopping for an SUV.

  • nice car but buyers beware - 2003 Honda Pilot

This car runs great, love the interior except for the consoles. Gas mileage is horrible I feed this baby once a week. Problem with dampness/wetness on the carpeting from drivers side and passengers side. Had it serviced twice. So buyers beware, have it serviced by a mechanic before you purchase a used Pilot.

  • New pilot - 2009 Honda Pilot
    By -

After narrowing down the search to the Toyota Highlander and the Honda Pilot we chose the Pilot for its cargo capacity and value proposition. A like equipped Highlander was several thousand dollars more. After a month with the new Pilot we are very satisfied. Comfortable ride, good performance and improved gas mileage (from the previous year). Honda quality is readily apparent everywhere in the vehicle. A great choice

  • Goodbye Sienna - 2003 Honda Pilot

Just traded a 2000 Toyota Sienna. The worst vehicle ever designed by the japanese for what could be the absolute best. The Pilot is wonderful! Great power, ride, utility and comfort. Thumbs up all around. Managed to get mine for $2000 below MSRP after some SERIOUS negotiations. The dealers are definitely proud of the Pilot.

  • Love it - 2006 Honda Pilot

we love this car- great layout inside, plenty of room even with the 3rd row up. Even I have sat in the 3rd row without too much discomfort (Im 5 ft 4 in), but would not want to do it on a regular basis. Best for kids. But all the rows have a recline feature for the seats, the middle can be moved up and back as well. Not anything negative from our point of view.

  • Nice truck! - 2004 Honda Pilot

THIS HAS BEEN A VERY GOOD TRUCK SO FAR. No major problems. Oil, gas thats it!! I pull a 19 ft boat in the summer and this has plenty of power and is quiet and smooth.

  • Honda does it again - 2003 Honda Pilot

Forget all your preconceived notions of Honda and test drive the Pilot before you buy any other midsize SUV. The ride, interior finish and cabin space are tops. Do your homework and youll find that no other car company offers anything close to what Hondas offering at this price. Add Hondas reputation for reliability and its a no brainer. We have two kids so we added the DVD system and its worth every penny. Honda had families in mind when they developed this SUV and they nailed it.
