Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Great SUV except in the curves - 2003 Honda Pilot

Honda got it right with this one! The vehicle ives up to the rave reviews that it has been getting, with excellent Honda quality throughout. Just a reminder, this is a SUV and not a car; you need to slow down on the highway exit ramps!

  • No complaints - 2007 Honda Pilot

Traded up from a CRV and love the Pilot - to sum it up, great value with no weak points.

  • Honda lies about gas consumption. - 2007 Honda Pilot
    By -

This car is totally horrible on gas. Any decent features are totally overshadowed by its hunger for gasoline. Honda told me a bunch of lies about how the fuel consumption will improve, but I drove it for 3000 miles and dont see any improvements. For the curious, I get on average 10-11 MPG and thats both city and highway driving.

  • Great Car for the money - 2007 Honda Pilot

I have the green interior, it shows some spots. Other than this small item. Love the truck / SUV.

  • Big Reliable Quality SUV - 2003 Honda Pilot

The base model Pilot is fantastic. The cloth interior is great, and who gives a hoot about the sunroof anyway. Bought mine for $26,500, and what a deal. What technology. MDX Mechanicals under the body, and big enough for a huge camping trip. Plus, I dont pamper it like I would a $40k MDX.

  • I LOVE my Pilot - 2004 Honda Pilot

Extremely comfortable ride, not like truck based SUVs. Great Handling, I live way out in the country off a dirt rode prone to flooding and erosion and it handles great and feels great. Hondas usual very thoughtful interior design. Great room inside, but smaller than usual (for SUVS) exterior dimensions, which makes parking easy to handle.

  • Great car for my daughter - 2007 Honda Pilot
    By -

I bought this car for my daughter in college but since she is far away we have been driving it till she gets home. It is an easy car to enjoy the inside is extremly comfortable and easy to locate all devices. The drive is soft but not too soft. It handles well.

  • I love this suv like I do my Ford 350SD - 2006 Honda Pilot
    By -

I put a dvd/game player in the back with 4 headsets etc. The family loves it. I love the nav. I get 19 miles a gal. This has been my favorite next to my Ford 350SD diesel dully truck. It drives great. Ive had it a year. I am always in a hurry, so it is easy to drive. My daughter has learned to drive in it. I plan on keeping this car until it falls apart. I cant say that about many cars Ive had over the years. I hall 4 kids and groceries around and still have room. It is smaller than our conv. van and trucks but it is nice for my life style. I love this SUV. Its a keeper.

  • Great Choice - 2009 Honda Pilot

Looking for more space and knew I liked my moms 2006 Pilot as well as Hondas great reputation. Also was considering the new Ford Flex b/c my husband works for Ford, and although it drove well, I decided to go with the Pilot and couldnt be happier. Space is phenomenal and I like the new interior styling much better than previous models, especially the shifter on the dash, storage cubbies, and blue convenience lighting. Dont think theres another SUV in this class with so many standard features for price, like backup camera, leather, sunroof, and RES. Comfy drive and tight handling and I dont hear the gas sloshing like others mentioned. Neg: headrests tilt forward and some road noise.

  • 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L - 2007 Honda Pilot

Feels more powerful than a v-6. Mpg slightly less than advertised. Pleny of room for 5. Front cup holders awkward to reach. Some road noise but should be expected w/ suv.
