Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Great Family Vehicle - 2006 Honda Pilot

While it is difficult to be all things to all drivers, the Pilot gives it a pretty good shot. While you will not be able to tow that 100 foot sail boat that you see on the Nissan Titan commercials, you will be able to do what 98% of SUV purchasers need to do. You will find the ride to be very smooth, solid and quiet. The Pilot is definitely a Honda. Great build quality. With the end of the model year deals available right now, you cannot go wrong.

This is the forth SUV Ive owned in 30 years and it easily champions over the others in fit, finish, quality of build, attention to details, and comfort. Way to go Honda. If the other automakers could copy Hondas dedication to excellance .....

  • Fun to drive - 2003 Honda Pilot

This is our primary family vehicle. We use this whenever the whole family goes somewhere. I love how well this vehcile rides, performs and handles at highway speeds. Very easy to handle in parking lot manuvers. Love this vehicle and will buy another one when ready.

  • Mileage - 2007 Honda Pilot

A fun car to drive. Mileage is a major issue for someone that has to drive this car on a daily basis. I purchased this vehicle to use for vacation trips, I plan on only using about 6000/year. If I had to use it to commute to work, I probably end up in the poor house

  • Great family car - 2006 Honda Pilot

Weve had it for nearly 1 1/2 years and have 3 children, all 5 and under. First off, I love my Pilot. That said, the 2nd row is not ideal. The biggest flaw with this as a family car is that infant carseat would only fit in the center where there is no latch! Latched it using the other seats latches but left my other 2 kids latchless. Plenty of power and cargo space. 3rd row for kids only. Nice leather. A touch noisy on highway. Great stereo. Console is very nice. Solid vehicle, runs well. I drove an Audi and would like tighter steering, though. But handles fairly well, doesnt feel too big. Great safety features

  • So Far So Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 2004 Honda Pilot

Ive had my 04 Pilot EX for a yr. now and just love it. Have 10,000 miles on it. The ride and comfort is great. I feel like Im in a luxury car. Ive had absolutely no problems with it. Only the recall on the transmission. My dealer took care of the recall and they have been great to me with all the regular maintenance that has been done so far. My kids love the Pilot, the interior room and plenty of cup holders. Exterior fit and finish has been great. Ive kept it washed and waxed, the Nighthawk Black Pearl finish is impecable when clean and waxed. Looks like wet glass. This Pilot is the best vehicle i have ever owned. Just ask me bamatpe@aol.com

  • Amazing SUV - 2004 Honda Pilot

It is a great vehicle. Honda build quality, performance, comfort, ergonomics, and low cost of ownership. My wife and kids also just love it. It is really hard to believe that this "midsize" SUV can carry all this cargo and 8 passengers!! I have shopped for so many other SUVs and find it the best overall value.

  • Good, not great - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

Excellent Honda reputation, questionable ergonomics. Uncomfortable drivers seat. Steering wheel position and drivers seat hard to match for comfort. Small radio/cd buttons on dash, steering wheel controls seem lilke afterthoughts, not as user friendly as controls in new Accord. Great drivetrain, confidence building trip through the Deleware Gorge in the rain, filled the back with antiques and a dog, got 20 mpg over 900 miles. The Nav comes only with continental USA software.

  • Great SUV for the money - 2007 Honda Pilot
    By -

I am a big Honda fan and biased for Honda over any other car company. This is our second Honda and I love it. The engine is silky smooth and near silent. The ride is nice and quiet. The SUV is great for the family with eight passenger seating and room for everyone. I test drove new GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook, Mazda CX-9 and even new Acura MDX. But Pilot has everything these other SUVs have plus the great price. Great SUV for the price. Buy and treat yourself!!
