Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Great SUV!!! - 2003 Honda Pilot

We have had this Pilot for only 2 weeks and we have already put 2,000 miles on it. It drives like a dream and the seats are so comfortable and it is so much more quiet than our previous SUV. We drove for 8 hours to Gulf Shores, Al and I was not worn out when we got there! The gas mileage is already better than our old Mountaineer and it is only going to get better. Paid sticker for it and had leather, rubber floormats, foglights added. Love this SUV!!

  • Love my pilot! - 2006 Honda Pilot

We now have 23,000 miles on our Pilot. We pull 2 Harleys on a trailer from time to time. It performs very well and is a very comfortable traveling vehicle. Weve even taken the in-laws with us on a trip. They found the back seat very comfortable and room for baggage. Lots of AC/DC plugs. Took laptop, cell phones, and used the 12V to play DVDs.

This is our first Honda. The drive is quiet and smooth, fuel economy is decent, and the A/C chills quickly. All in all we are pleased with our latest purchase.

  • The best "Midsize SUV" - 2004 Honda Pilot
    By -

I did alot of reviewing before I bought my Pilot. I knew that it was the right choice. I put Midsize in " only because its far from that. Lots of space. My family and I had a picnic this past week. We fit 8 adults with no problem. Try doing that in any other Midsize SUV. With gas prices already high. The Pilot will give you the best gas economy you can find. Durablity and reliability, its a Honda.

  • Honda Sucks - 2004 Honda Pilot

I took the truck to different dealers to diagnoses a hesitation in the transmission. All they did was to upgrade the computer system. After insisting that the symptom was not but a product of my imagination, the recall came trough. The second gear was burn and the transaxle was not engaging anymore. The car has a lot of push with 245hp. However the pulling is barely getting by without hurting the 4 wheel system and a $5000 out of my pocket. I am fighting Honda for the warranty that just pass the 1000 over. Buyer beware, Honda is great for cars and light vehicles. Please do not try their trucks and expected them to pull like an American.

  • Great Family Car! - 2007 Honda Pilot

I have had my Pilot for 6 months now and absolutly love it! I have had all the others and this Pilot easily is the best ever! And I almost bought the 4runner since I think the Pilot is funny looking! With just over 6000 miles I am just now averaging the 17mpg which they advertised. 20 mpg has been my best on all highway driving. Drive quality is fantastic and I am so glad that I got a car with third row seating so I can seperate my young boys. Car has tons of space for storage between seats and also in the back. Easily holds 4 guys and all the golf gear! Makes a great family car. Tons of space and small kids fit well in third row

  • I love this SUV! - 2003 Honda Pilot

Traded in my old Ford for a sleek new Pilot and it was the best thing I ever did. Smooth ride, good acceleration, and good mileage for an SUV. The only problems include price (supply/demand issue), and exterior finish. I would have preferred to have the door handles be the same body color rather than black plastic. Otherwise, the Pilot is an absolute winner in every respect!

  • Great Vehicle - worth the wait - 2003 Honda Pilot

Huge Honda fan = Have owned 4 other Civics and Accords Have owned Chevy Blazer, Nissan Pathfinder and most recently Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado..... None compare to the Pilot NOT EVEN CLOSE

  • Off to a good start - 2003 Honda Pilot

The Pilot gives a smooth, roomy ride. Lots of storage and cargo room for a midsize SUV. Very pleased with the performance, especially the quiet transmission and acceleration. But we miss the rear door window that opened separately from the door that was on our old Explorer.
