Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Great car except for slight vibration - 2003 Honda Pilot

I like everything about the Pilot except for a slight vibration between70- 80 mph. This is our 10th Honda product and I have loved them all. Im sure Honda will solve the vibration problem, but in the interim it is aggrevating.

  • Buy German - 2006 Honda Pilot

Good on the highways, thats the only good part. Bought the one with a Navigation that has all outdated maps, windshield wipers that do not clean, bug paste literally sticks to low-quality windshield, lousy stereo (multiple problems with the subwoofer) and above all a not a great drive. Engine may be nice, but not fuel efficient if you want to feel a little of the rush. Body is literally made of tin !! Listen to me, buy something German, everything else is a cheap imitation !!! I plan to promptly return this after my lease, but wanted to save a few souls from getting into a similar trap !!!

  • Great SUV - 2007 Honda Pilot

I have owned 3 Explorers, 1 Blazer and 1 Yukon and this is definitely the best yet. I picked it up on a Friday and went out of town the next day. I got 25 mpg on the highway. I paid $3,000. less than I was quoted on the Toyota Highlander and this is a good bit larger vehicle. This has got to be the best SUV in this size class. Before purchasing I check the sales prices of 3 yr. old Pilots with over 50,000 miles and they were selling for only $5,000. less than I paid for thes 2007 model. Hows that for not much depreciation!

  • Best SUV for the Money! - 2010 Honda Pilot
    By -

My wife and I were trying to decide between the 2010 Pilot Touring and the Buick Enclave EXL. The Enclave is nicer to look at than the Pilot but a bit too expensive (EXL w/o Nav or DVD $39k). The Pilot Touring model with Nav, DVD, Bluetooth, and HFL cost us $36k so we went with the more cost effective option. We are very glad we made this decision because it rides beautifully and the 3 kids absolutely love the new toy! It gets about the same gas mileage as our old 2000 Odyssey so were not too concerned. Ill be adding the after- market chrome running boards and chrome mesh grill next week to make it prettier. If youre gonna buy a Pilot, the Touring model is the way to go!

  • Even better than my 2005 EX-L - 2016 Honda Pilot
    By -

The new Pilot is hugely improved in every aspect over the outgoing model. I find the looks are much nicer than the outgoing boxy model, which I didnt like compared to the original Pilot design it replaced. I had my 05 Pilot EX-L for over 11 trouble-free years and 168K miles. The new 16 blows it away for gas mileage. Ive been getting way better than EPA estimates. My old Pilot was typically 17-18 city and around 22-23 highway with a best of 25 mpg. For first 2,000 miles, the new Pilot returned 22 mpg city and 27-28 highway mpg with one tank a legitimate 30.6 mpg in ECO mode! Keyless key system is great. I wanted a Black Forest Pearl EX cloth AWD but the only one that finally showed up was one with Homda Sensing, $1000 more. I got it. The sensing is okay but to me, its a bit of a novelty and I find to get the best mileage, I dont use it nor do I use cruise control if the roads are not flat. XM radio is great, as is the other electronic features. I hope they last.

  • Top of the line - 2005 Honda Pilot

The absolute, best vehicle I have ever owned. Driving it is a pure pleasure. I have owned toyotas, fords, and isuzus in the past. No other vehicle can hold a candle to my 2005 Honda pilot L ex,navigation. I love this SUV!

  • Excellent Midsize SUV - 2007 Honda Pilot
    By -

I spent a lot of time looking at all the SUV in the 25-35k price range and went to look at each of them. The Honda Pilot EX-L with Navi has them all beat. The car is extremely solid and is very roomy. So far I have owned it for a week and I love it. It drives like a car but has the functionality of a SUV. To own a fully loaded SUV for under $30000 (sticker price $36,000) is amazing. It comes with all the cool gadget as Lexus -$15,000 price tag. It is truly worth the money and will keep its value over the years.
