Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Poor built quality - 2009 Honda Pilot

Maybe because this is the first year for this updated model, but I noticed a lot of small fit and finish problems. Didnt expect this from Honda.

  • In Honda Heaven - 2003 Honda Pilot

I intentionally waited awhile after purchasing before giving my review, so the novelty of owning such a vehicle wore off. However after about 6 months I am very pleased. Its a pleasure to drive. Spend the money and youll be glad come trade in time. The extra I paid for the DVD player more than paid for itself when I was cohersed into taking the in-laws on a trip. Popped in a John Wayne Flick and never heard a peep from Mommy and Daddy Dearest. Oh ya the kids dont fight half as much either.

  • Think twice - 2006 Honda Pilot

Well, all the rave about the Pilot is over rated. Its a 6 cylinder...then a 4 cylinder! I needed a 6 cyl...as told repeated to the salesman...to tow heavy handicap equipment for my mother. I am disappointed in the road noise, but mostly Honda itself. Why tell people this is a great car? Maybe it is for most. But when you need specifics, Chapman Tucson should have directed me to something more to my needs. 30 days later, I am trading it in!

  • Love This Vehicle - 2008 Honda Pilot

I love this vehicle. It is everything I could have asked for in a suv. I love the fact that it seats eight. I dont know how comfortable it would be for an adult to sit in the third row but kids would be just fine back there. My husband bought this vehicle for me for my 30th birthday and I am ecstatic!

  • Priceless - 2005 Honda Pilot

I test drove so many SUVs. It came down to the Honda Pilot and the Toyota Highlander. There was no comparison. It drives like a dream. You have to be really careful though when you are sitting in it and its running because its so quiet you might think its off and turn it on when its already running. Buy one now. You wont be sorry.

  • Bad Truck - 2005 Honda Pilot
    By -

This is by far one of the worst vehicles that I have ever owned. This truck overheats. The heads went bad the vehicle is a total disaster. Seats are uncomfortable. Interior lights, light up on their own. Would not recommend the car. Would not buy again. I have owned Hondas in the past and this is by far a poorly made car.

  • The future of family transportation - 2004 Honda Pilot

After looking at everthing on the market, the Pilot was the obvious choice. It offers the best size, power, mileage, and features for the money. Also, the price has come down considerably since its introduction - I bought mine for $2700 off of MSRP.

  • First Honda, so far so good - 2008 Honda Pilot

After totalling my Chevy TrailBlazer, and then rushing to buy a GMC Yukon, I wanted a vehichle with a fold flat third row, 4wd, rear entertainment system, and lots of extras. I found it all with my Pilot Special Edition, with kids we knew we didnt want leather. I havent had to use the 4wd yet, but hope its everything Honda promises. It seems noiser than my Yukon, and not as comfortable, but I was willing to compromise given the rest of the goodies. The gas mileage is reasonable. In town, I get about 16-17 mpg, and 20-21 on the highway (at ~70mph). So far, everything rings true to the Honda value.

  • Awesome car. Best for the Buck. - 2008 Honda Pilot

I already own a 2004 Honda Pilot. I test drove comparable Toyota, Nissan, and Acura SUVs. Honda is the best car/value Bar none. Theyve made so much enhancements to the Pilot since 2004 that I feel like I am driving a different car. Navigation is easy to use and I love the XM radio. I also like the fact that rear camera and fog light is now standard on Navigation model. I simply love it.
