Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • What a great SUV to own - 2003 Honda Pilot

We bought this car without much research. We drove pass the dealership and went in for a test drive. We fall in love with this car immediately. It is very easy to drive, has all the necessary function. And, about all, the price is great!

Friends have these vehicles and have been very pleased. My wife refuses to drive this vehicle.

  • Think 3 times - 2006 Honda Pilot

Ask for a 6 cyl, and you get a car that drops to a 4 cyl to "save gas"! Well it isnt gas efficient, and if i wanted a 4 cyl, i would have bought a crv. this is not a comfortable car, road noise is loud, not very roomy for anyone over 53". honda could have done much better, for the sticker price. i now see why it was back on the lot just after a year, and only after driving it 45 days, it will be on the lot again!!!!

  • 2 months old - 2003 Honda Pilot

In 2 months Ive put 9000 miles on it. I like everyting about it. Power is great, it is comfortable on long trips, and Im getting 21-22 miles per gallon. I found no flaws on our Pilot. I checked out the Toyota Highlander, and Ford Explorer and Chevy Blazer and Trailblazer. They drove like trucks. The Pilot drives like a car. A luxury car.

  • The Best SUV on the road - 2003 Honda Pilot
    By -

The Honda Pilot has the capability to be used as a truck, lots of room. You can put allot of stuff in the SUV and still be able to find it. It rides like a Ca---- and gets great gas mileage, 25 highway for me . My wife and I feel safe while driving this vehicle. Buy one you wont be disappointed. Fraternally, Tom

  • This is the the best SUV ever! - 2003 Honda Pilot

I love my Pilot very much! The ride is very smooth, the interior is roomy and very user fiendly design. The look is so cool, much better than almost all the SUVs on the market except MDX.

  • Great SUV all around - 2007 Honda Pilot
    By -

I bought the 07 Pilot EX-L RES in May 07. I have put about 12k miles so far and have been very please with the vehicle. Its comfortable, very agile (for an SUV)very surprised with the handling, not that scary feeling on the curves, very roomy. Not as good on gas as I tought but hey its an SUV. The only thing I would have liked is the ability to have both RES and Navi, power front pax seat and memory since both me and my wife drive the vehicle and its kind of anoying having to re- adjust everything, other than that Ill give it a 10 !!

  • Old mule never dies - 2005 Honda Pilot

I have a 2005 Honda Pilot with 226,000 miles on it. Had to replace one speed sensor in all this time. Great ride, a lot of room and a great car.

  • Satisfied Buyer - 2009 Honda Pilot
    By -

After looking at and test driving the Acadia, Outlook, Edge, CX-9, and Pathfinder, I was pleasantly surprised by the redesigned 2009 Pilot. The GM products were "cheap" looking on the inside, and the driving experience was average. The others lost out to either styling, or functionality. A family of four, two large dogs, and all the gear to go away for the weekend fit comfortably in the Pilot. All of the features are easy to operate, and convenient. I honestly could not be more pleased with the vehicle and enjoy driving it. I also found it to be priced significantly lower then its similarly equipped competitors.

We traded our 2003 EX-L in for a 2005 EX -L-Nav. I very impressed with the improvements made, sunroof, more power, heated seats and heated mirrors along with other changes. The nav system works great. We had the 2003 for approximately 2 years 4 months and put on approx 33,000. We had some trouble under the warranty, I was never comfortable with the transmission and felt it was best to trade in. I would recommend to all.
