Excessive Road Noise - 2009 Honda Pilot
By Noisy - June 11 - 9:33 pmI really like the 09 Pilot with the exception of the excessive road/tire noise at highway speeds. A vehicle in this price range should be reasonably quiet - this vehicle is not! The noise has become a real issue with my wife and me to the point that we may have to get rid of the vehicle, which is too bad, as I think it would be a great car it not for the noise

Great Vehicle - 2009 Honda Pilot
By Josh - May 16 - 10:56 amMy family & I are really enjoying our Pilot. Its much better than my 06 Frontier crewcab! Its true that the interior materials are not as upscale as other Honda vehicles (compared to my wifes 07 CR-V or a new Accord), but its not offensive at all & I like it just fine. Braking has been great for me in real-world conditions. Power has never been a problem; I pass & merge with ease. Sprung for the DVD & our daughter loves it. Seats are very comfortable. Cylinder shutoff is noticeable & takes some getting used to. Road noise is minimal. Wonderful little details included in the design, such as the grocery hooks, cargo net, hill assist. Sound system is clear/crisp, but not as good as expected.

Solid citizen - 2009 Honda Pilot
By familyman2 - May 8 - 1:20 amHad the 2009 Pilot EX AWD for a month now. We looked at this and the Toyota Highlander after having a Mercedes ML320 for 10 years. This car is very roomy. The seating arrangements are very flexible for the 2nd & 3rd rows. Engine is very quiet and smooth but there is some road noise. The EX does not have leather seats but the fabric is VERY nice. Hard to describe but kind of a hi-tech feel. The seats are very comfortable with plenty of adjustments. At first I thought the front interior looked kind of plasticy (if thats a word) but its because theres so much room in front. It really looks fine and the fit and finish is very solid. Gas mileage is only 14.5 in city driving so far.

2009 Honda Pilot Touring - 2009 Honda Pilot
By me - April 19 - 5:20 amThe fuel economy is a farce plain and simple. We have had the car for 1500 miles and have not averaged over 14.5 mpg. Not to mention that you cant drive this vehicle over 75 as the body roll is unsafe. Other items to be aware of, the cargo area slope is a really bad idea. The remote locking system must be unlocked again to open hatch and cant click to lock if any door is still open. The lack of adjustment in the passengers seat as well as heat only on the seat not the back of the passenger seat. Not the easiest to get into the 3rd row. The noise at highway speed. Park sensors that arent on the front of the front bumper so you could pull into something straight on without warning.

Love my new Pilot - 2009 Honda Pilot
By Eve - March 29 - 2:56 pmAfter looking at the 2008 Pilot, Highlander, CRX-9, Santa Fe (any and all 3 row seat SUVs in the market to be honest) we decided to wait for the 2009 Pilot. It was so worth it! It has everything that we were looking for and more. We got the Touring with NAV and RES (more bang for our bucks) and LOVE all the features and xtra space it gives us. We need the space for family and camping trips, etc. The ride is really smooth and quite. I really feel we are safe in it (tons of safety features). So far it has been the best car that we have ever owned! If you are looking at this type of SUV you have to look at the 2009 Pilot, you wont consider any other car after this one.

Satisfied Buyer - 2009 Honda Pilot
By Satisfied Buyer - November 16 - 7:03 amAfter looking at and test driving the Acadia, Outlook, Edge, CX-9, and Pathfinder, I was pleasantly surprised by the redesigned 2009 Pilot. The GM products were "cheap" looking on the inside, and the driving experience was average. The others lost out to either styling, or functionality. A family of four, two large dogs, and all the gear to go away for the weekend fit comfortably in the Pilot. All of the features are easy to operate, and convenient. I honestly could not be more pleased with the vehicle and enjoy driving it. I also found it to be priced significantly lower then its similarly equipped competitors.

Poor built quality - 2009 Honda Pilot
By bb - November 15 - 12:26 pmMaybe because this is the first year for this updated model, but I noticed a lot of small fit and finish problems. Didnt expect this from Honda.

Great Choice - 2009 Honda Pilot
By Jamie - April 14 - 9:36 amLooking for more space and knew I liked my moms 2006 Pilot as well as Hondas great reputation. Also was considering the new Ford Flex b/c my husband works for Ford, and although it drove well, I decided to go with the Pilot and couldnt be happier. Space is phenomenal and I like the new interior styling much better than previous models, especially the shifter on the dash, storage cubbies, and blue convenience lighting. Dont think theres another SUV in this class with so many standard features for price, like backup camera, leather, sunroof, and RES. Comfy drive and tight handling and I dont hear the gas sloshing like others mentioned. Neg: headrests tilt forward and some road noise.

Another Pilot for us - 2009 Honda Pilot
By AJ - February 25 - 7:03 amOriginally hated the new styling, hoped for more rounder then boxy. Now that I own one, I like the shape, it grew on me. We are very happy with this vehicle. Coming from an 04 Pilot there are many changes, more space, bigger feel, smoother drive, better interior. Plastic dash doesnt bother me, controls are easy to learn. I do find myself sitting forward when driving, its not the headrest but the support behind my back pushing me forward. Seats are very comfortable. Pick-up can be a bit sluggish when merging onto the highway. Love the radio and the way it displays station, song title and artist. Much better access to the handle for lowering the third row then in the 2004.
