Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Another winner from Honda - 2010 Honda Pilot

Bought the Pilot as my family was outgrowing the 08 CRV I had. My final choice was between the PIlot and the Toyota Highlander. The Pilot won because of the useful third row seat, more standard features on the trim I was loking at and my general bias towards Honda. The car has been a revelation. It has a comfortable ride and at the same time has enough power under the hood to accelerate nicely on highways. Absolutely love the spacious interiors, the 6 cd changer and seven speakers. Only complaint I have is the horrible mileage. I emptied my first full tank and according to the trip meter, the mileage was a horrible 15mpg, which is low even for city driving.

  • Love being a Pilot! - 2005 Honda Pilot

I have owned my 2005 Pilot since April. I bought it from a dealer and it had 2000 miles put on it by the dealer manager. I love this darn car so much I cant stay out of it. I have put 12,000 miles on it in 4 months! It has such great handling. Turning on a dime even though it is the size of a half-dollar. It has amazing power and is easy easy to drive. Love it!

  • Excellent SUV - 2003 Honda Pilot

We bought this vehicle last November and we absolutely love it. We drove north to Mont Tremblant in Canada from MA in February (pulling along our snowmobiles) and the ride was great. My brother had recently bought a Yukon and was sorry that he hadnt tried the Pilot first. We have had absolutely no issues with this vehicle to date (15k miles). The ride is just as smooth as the other Hondas I have owned. Our Pilot was imported from Canada so it has heated seats which is a big plus. Definitely worth the money (I only paid a few hundred dollars over invoice).

  • 02 Odyssey vs 07 Pilot - 2007 Honda Pilot

I own a 02 Odyssey EXL and a 07 Pilot EXL. The family prefers the Odyssey overwhelmingly than the Pilot. The Pilot is nice when travelling alone or with the missus. The kids (I have two) constantly complains that it is too cramped and theyre only three and five. The Odyssey just provides better value in terms of comfort, cargo room, and gas mileage. The Pilot is the vehicle I use to travel to work. On the weekends, it is strictly the Odyssey with the family.

  • I like my Pilot - 2005 Honda Pilot

We bought our Pilot used with about five thousand miles on it. Weve had it two years and absolutely no problems. We live in SC. We drove it to Oregon and back this July (100 degrees plus out west). We drove back in three days with sightseeing in Utah. It handled and drove like a dream. There were three of us and our stuff. The engine has great power and does 80 with ease. Gas mileage was as advertised. Stability control saved me from an accident on a five-lane through Charlotte, NC when the guy in the lane to my left started to pull into my lane before he looked, and I instinctively yanked the steering wheel to the right to get away. I would have lost control of a lesser vehicle.

I like the power the Honda pilot has, The space it has is unbeated by other suvs. I had before an 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport an the diference betwen the two suvs is enormous. I am very happy to own a class vehicle

  • Love the Pilot!!!! - 2005 Honda Pilot
    By -

Traded in our 2001 Windtsar SportSE Van, and were looking to purchase Odyssey. But after test driving Odyssey, wife wanted to test the Pilot. Fell in love with the Pilot immediately. It rides just like the Odyssey, but appears to have much more room. Engine is very peppy (cruises at 80mph at 2.5RPM) and gets decent gas mileage. We even did a little off- roading, and had no problems with traction or slipping. We didnt think we wanted the EX, as we felt the options werent anything we needed to spend the extra money on. But after seeing the LX, side by side to an EX, visually, the EX is a much sharper, better looking vehicle. Weve had no problems mechanically whatsoever, unlike our Windstar.

  • one year of ownership - 2015 Honda Pilot

Was really torn between last of the 2015s vs. new 2-16 redesign.... Saved some$$$ and went with the 2015. After reading all the issues with the transmission, touchscreen, radio probs of the 2016 glad I did. No issues as of yet. Had an anchor seat cover come loose and that is it (glued back in) It is a famiiy hauler...very smooth on the highway. tracks straight and true easy family cruiser. BIg, boxy and bulky - tough to find anymore. Love the true center console. great sound system, rear dvd, and no touchscreen crap - true knobs to turn!!! So far so good.
