Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Loving The Pilot - 2008 Honda Pilot

We recently traded in a Volvo XC90 for the Pilot and are loving it. The interior is quite spacious and having a third row seat is a wonderful convenience. The interior integrity compared to other makes we looked at does not compare. I think we will keep this car for awhile.

  • Still love my Pilot after 6 months - 2004 Honda Pilot

This is a great SUV, more comfortable than 2004 Toyota Highlander. I made right choice.

  • Great Overall Value - 2007 Honda Pilot

This is a great SUV. Roomier and better build quality than any other I test drove. Very smooth shifting and good acceleration. Quiet ride and responsive handling (considering its size). I have the 2WD version with the "ECO" feature. Seems to work as advertised (getting about 18-20 city/22-24 highway).

The fit and finish is the best of any SUV/Van I have owned. There are no rattles and squeeks. Lots of interior flexibility/space for large or small families. Sharp turning radius comes in handy for tight parking spots. Climbs over hills/mountains effortlessly with 255 HP engine.

  • Pilot - great car - 2005 Honda Pilot

It handles well, is fun to drive and is very comfortable. I wish the Nav came with voice activation, and the standard tires arent the best, but otherwise its a fabulous vehicle and I like it more as time goes by. Really glad I researched SUVs and bought a Pilot.

Had a 2004 Pilot loved it and bought the 2wd 2008. Great car and love the Hondas reliability.Gas mileage on the 2wd seems much better than my 2004. Live in Ohio and 2wd doesnt seem much different than my 2004 awd. Love the XM feature on the radio, no more looking for stations on trips.

  • EVERYTHING THE ACURA MDX SHOULD HAVE BEEN - 2016 Honda Pilot

The Honda Pilot Elite is amazing and absolutely nothing like the old pilot. At first I was disappointed when I saw the new 16 pilot on a lot this summer, but it was an ex. Anything that remotely looks like a Chevy makes me ill. I acquired a silver pilot elite with a black, which is actually dark charcole interior, and absolutely love it! The tech and fit and finish were well worth the 50K out the door price. Acura owners.......Everything the Acura MDX should have been and much more room to boot. Okay the nasty reports of the 9 speed transmission are highly accurate at low speeds In town and on slow rolling hills it is hideous......but wait there is a simple fix at the push of a button......no ones talking about it......the ECO button engauged cures the issue 100%!!! And transmission purs like a kitten even on rolling hills. Did Honda do this so we drive in Eco mode????? This car in not like a gutless ford engine where you saw these Eco buttons start....this is a 280 horse engine and definitely responds to the pedal in any mode! So who care what mode you are in!? I DO NOT run Eco mode on the highway! In my opinion you will find normal mode is better, cruise works better and gas mileage is phenomenal anyway on a 9 speed tranny. Gas mileage is amazing and it blows away all other cars in its class. I kid you not! I had a 2011 FWD pilot touring and averaged 14 to 15 mpg in my small town with a little bit of highway. My 2016 AWD pilot Elite is 20.3 MPG. WOW! Highway only was almost 30! Honda did make some changes that frustrated me a bit on the dash........but GOD the depressing reviews.....get a life people......you get use to the changes in a couple of weeks and have a car that feels and drives like a sports car, stears itself, and has a dozen safety features that WILL certainly prevent so many accidents we expirence today. THANK YOU HONDA ENGINEERS! Again all the folks comparing this to the old pilot WHICH I LOVED SO MUCH........drive a 2016 Elite for a week and you will see the Pilot is in a whole new class of luxury and performance! There is NO way I would go back!

  • Reliability at its finest - 2004 Honda Pilot

Seats are very comfortable with an abundance of room. A friend who purchased an Expedition because of its size mentioned he was having second thoughts once he sat in the Pilot. It is running strong with just an oil change, making it 8 shop visits better than my all but forgotten 1999 Chevy Blazer in its first year of life.

  • great suv - 2003 Honda Pilot

This is by far the best vehicle purchase we have ever made. It has more than enough passenger and cargo room. The engine has plenty of horsepwer. I highly recommend the Pilot.
