Model Overview:

Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.

Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

  • Good all around vehicle - 2006 Honda Pilot

Acceptable ride and comfort that is not compromised by its midsized chasis. Unfortunately, the GY Integrity tires are more design for summer driving than all season. The car deserves either a higher performance tire or a more suitable all season. Could use a bit more low rpm torque. No competition in the segment offers better interior space utilization. Now if this car could be available in a diesel or hybrid version!

  • "The best SUV ever made" - 2008 Honda Pilot

I have only had my SUV for a few weeks. However it is such a smooth riding vehicle its the best ever!

  • Nav system - 2003 Honda Pilot

The Pilot offers execellent cargo space with a smooth ride. I dont go off road enough to need a 4Runner but do make long trips using the interior cargo space. The NAV systems has proven worth the additional cost.

  • Best SUV - 2003 Honda Pilot

This is our third SUV (4Runner, Explorer) and hands down the best all around. Rides like a car, Seats eight and goes through six inches of snow like nothing else.

Safety and reliability is what made me look at the Pilot to replace a Toyota minivan. For the value of the current incentives, it is too good to pass up. It is a great choice for a family vehicle. The interior is logical and the exterior, well, its a traditional SUV look. I like the Pilot but I wouldnt label it as a stand out. I do recommend it for its practical purpose and Hondas good safety name. I also feel that Honda treats their customers better.

  • Very Pleased - 2005 Honda Pilot

Have driven vehicle off road and in snow without incident. Very comfortable for me whereas most cars bother my back driving for extended periods. Mileage as advertised. First vehicle owned that required absolutely no warranty work.

  • Great SUV - 2008 Honda Pilot

I have been researching this SUV for a while now and it far surpasses what I expected. The interior design is more for utility not luxury.

  • Love my new Pilot - 2009 Honda Pilot
    By -

After looking at the 2008 Pilot, Highlander, CRX-9, Santa Fe (any and all 3 row seat SUVs in the market to be honest) we decided to wait for the 2009 Pilot. It was so worth it! It has everything that we were looking for and more. We got the Touring with NAV and RES (more bang for our bucks) and LOVE all the features and xtra space it gives us. We need the space for family and camping trips, etc. The ride is really smooth and quite. I really feel we are safe in it (tons of safety features). So far it has been the best car that we have ever owned! If you are looking at this type of SUV you have to look at the 2009 Pilot, you wont consider any other car after this one.

  • Pilot Saved Our Lives Too - 2004 Honda Pilot

I was broad-sided by another SUV going about 35 mph. Passenger side was crushed and my Pilot rolled over. Witnesses thought we were dead, but my kids and I walked away with minor bruises. I cant say enough about the safety of this SUV and I will definitely buy another!!! Inside is roomy and reasonably comfortable

  • Its a Honda!! - 2008 Honda Pilot
    By -

This is one sweet ride. Have owned two other Hondas in past 10 years. Both sedans, needed more room to haul more people and stuff. The Pilot is just the ticket. The ride is smooth and very quiet. Leather heated seats are a nice plus. Room for 8 if needed. Smart styling and Honda reliability. I looked at other American made SUVs and could not do it. Honda reliability has a powerful way of keeping customers coming back. Hondas do seem to sell themselves. Well done Honda!!!
