Overview & Reviews
Since its launch for the 2003 model year, the Honda Pilot has helped shape the market for crossover SUVs with three rows of seating. Offering V6 power, respectable fuel economy, a comfortable ride, plenty of interior space and seven-to-eight-passenger seating, the Pilot is exactly the kind of vehicle that appeals to growing families who are leery of traditional minivans. Other crossover SUVs might be sportier to drive or more stylish on the inside, but Honda's three-row crossover appeals to your practical side and packs in a lot of functionality.
Choosing a Pilot is straightforward, as Honda packages equipment in a few basic trim levels rather than offering countless options. Regardless of the year, all Honda Pilots give you three useful rows of seating and lots of storage slots, though early models are smaller and aren't quite as accommodating for teenagers in the third row. Cargo capacity has also increased over the years.

My family luv this pilot - 2007 Honda Pilot
By barok - June 16 - 1:17 amWe leased this 2007 pilot 4wd LX. I break-in this SUV very well so now I can get 0-60 mph w/in 6 seconds. MPG is average for an SUV. Driving is great, especially in the snow, but not in dynamic actions. A lot of noise in rough roads, but like riding on a boat while in highways.Engine and transmission are great!

You HAVE to test drive before decision! - 2005 Honda Pilot
By Swish1651 - June 15 - 6:06 pmI was interested in a 3-row vehicle and SUV. Knowing the terrible gas milage of most SUVs i started inclining to a van. Making a second trip to Honda Pilot, i fell in love with the 05 model. I STRONGLY SUGGEST DRIVING THIS VEHICLE BEFORE MAKING ANY DECISION!! The price is amazing for the things included - sunroof, amazing bose system, very reliable navigation system, leather, and a 3rd row seat with compromisable trunk space. I purchased this vehicle in black with saddle leather interior, and was amazed at the beauty, while being a Honda. We did our hw, and payed $31,500. The Acura MDX was our other option, but was ending up being $43,000+.

Dissatisfied Pilot Owner - 2003 Honda Pilot
By scoot3 - June 14 - 9:15 pmMost everything is OK with the Pilot with the exception of the transmission. I would strongly recommend that anyone buying a Pilot to plan on trading the Pilot before the power train warranty runs out. If not, you will be facing a $2500 fix. Pilot had a transmission recall but it was not a very good fix. Also radio and CD player are poor quality. Had to replace.

Pilot (Rock Solid) - 2006 Honda Pilot
By Matt182 - June 14 - 3:10 amI test drove the RAV4, Highlander, CR- V and Pilot. The Pilot won hands down. The EXL comes standard with everything you need in the package, including XM radio and heated seats. The Pilot drives and handles great. Dont let the "Cons" scare you aware from a test drive. The only time it feels big behind the wheel is when youre trying to park it in a very cramped parking lot. And come on, how many people do you know care about towing capacity? I live in the Midwest and have never towed a thing in my life.

Excessive Road Noise - 2009 Honda Pilot
By Noisy - June 11 - 9:33 pmI really like the 09 Pilot with the exception of the excessive road/tire noise at highway speeds. A vehicle in this price range should be reasonably quiet - this vehicle is not! The noise has become a real issue with my wife and me to the point that we may have to get rid of the vehicle, which is too bad, as I think it would be a great car it not for the noise

Great SUV for a Semi-Large Family!!! - 2006 Honda Pilot
By LoriG - June 11 - 2:20 amWe bought this car during the year-end clearance event in July of 06. I could not have made a better decision concerning a vehicle! This SUV has the space for my 4 small children, all of the stuff they tote from here to yonder, and our dog as well. The gas mileage does not compare to a car, of course, but its not as bad as one of those "monster SUVs" either. I havent noticed the road noise that Ive read about in so many other reviews as a matter of fact, I get compliments from passengers, all of the time, concerning the feel and sound of riding in a car! I wouldnt trade my Pilot for ANY other vehicle out there!

Love my Pilot - 2006 Honda Pilot
By Krissy - June 10 - 2:20 pmMy lease ends in 7 months and I will really miss this vehicle. I have owned several new cars including other SUVs and this is by far my favorite car ever. The size of the car is wonderful but it does not feel too large when driving it. It has great acceleration even at 40,000 miles. Hands down best features for the price. Im either buying this car at the end of the lease or getting the new body style. No complaints!!

honda pilot ex-L/black w/ dvd - 2004 Honda Pilot
By pilot owner - June 10 - 2:00 amthe pilot has been one of the best suvs i have ever driven. the handeling is excellent, the climate control is great and the speakers are 100% excellent. when i drive this suv, i feel like im flying thorugh air because the ride is smooth and the tourqe kicks in just right. i use to own a cr-v, but we traded it in for a pilot. i think it was worth it because the pilot felt more strongly built compared to the cr-v. you cannot really compare a 4cylinder car to a v6, but it has made a major driffernce.

Attention to detail makes owning a pleasure - 2017 Honda Pilot
By 4Hawkeyes - June 9 - 12:03 amIve owned/driven Hondas for the last 25 years and have always been satisfied with fit, finish, reliability, and safety and I have come to take these things for granted from Honda. The point is, up to now, I was just satisfied but the 2017 Pilot has blown me away with seemingly all the things I didnt even know I needed. Ive never owned a vehicle with remote start but now I use it almost daily. I love the auto door unlock/lock feature. In the past when leaving my vehicle my hands were full and I used to have to fumble for the door lock FOB and juggle packages. Now I just walk away and the vehicle takes care of itself. When I return I dont need to unlock the doors I just grab the door handle and the doors unlock. Dont buy navigation just use Android Auto it integrates well with all of the other Audio options. I know these are just minor things but the cumulative effect of all the minor design improvements are going to WOW you and make you appreciate your decision to buy this car. Its fun to drive, looks good, and gets good mileage. I dont think you will regret it.
