The TEN in Minivans - 2005 Honda Odyssey
By Family Man - April 8 - 2:40 amI must first say that prior to purchasing this vehicle, I examined and researched all of the minivans in the market. I have to begin by saying that I rated the Minivans based on our needs as a family and only against other minivans. The Odyssey has met every one of our expectations regarding a minivan and has therefore scored TENS throughout our review. We traded in a Subaru WRX and a Dodge Durango so traction was important. I was able to test drive the Odyssey at the start of a downpour and throughout a very strong rain. It handled as if it were an AWD vehicle even when I allowed for quicker acceleration. The VSA worked flawlessly as did the iV- tec engine. Highly recommend the Honda.

Odessey Touring 2005 - 2005 Honda Odyssey
By Benjamin - April 5 - 11:33 amI have been driving from Glendora, CA to St. Louis, Missouri, to Houston,Texas, to Biloxi, Mississppi and driving over 6000 miles from the time I bought my Honda on May 31, 2005 up to this time and I enjoy it very much. When you driving in the Freeway, you feel you are floating in the air. Pax system is very satisfying to have.

Satisfied Buyer - 2005 Honda Odyssey
By J. P. Jones - March 31 - 12:40 pmI had heard from my brother, and read in consumer magazines how good the Odyssey was, and it has lived up to all of that good press. The fit & finish are outstanding, performance is excellent, and the energy saving engine features of the high-end models are well worth the extra cost. This is by far the nicest, and best quality and value van my family has ever owned.

Great ride, powerful engine - 2005 Honda Odyssey
By Sox04 - March 12 - 12:23 amAfter extensive research, we decided to purchase the Odyssey, and so far we have not been disappointed. We purchased the base model LX mainly because of the price, but also because the standard options (air, cruise, CD player, etc...) fully meet our needs. The Odyssey has a smooth V6 engine with plenty of acceleration when needed. The interior is well laid-out and the seats are very comfortable. When our 3 month old and two large dogs are loaded into the Odyssey, we still have plenty of room for our stroller, luggage, and additional passengers. We are planning on making some long trips in the Odyssey this summer, and you cant beat Hondas reputation for safety and reliability.

Issues with the Honda Odyssey 2005 - 2005 Honda Odyssey
By Jeremy - March 11 - 4:40 amI have almost 5000 miles on my new Odyssey, and I love the vehicle. However, there have been some issues with the vehicle. Switching from an SUV that got 12mpg, I wanted fuel economy. The 20/28mpg on the sticker is not at all what I have experienced. I have averaged about 16mpg and that is including two 1400mi highway trips. Also, my DVD sound goes out periodically on the wireless headphones. This is frustrating on long trips when the kids are yelling that they cant hear the movie every 20 min. I am taking it into the dealer today for the second time. Finally the very low 4-5inch ground clearance in the front has caught more than one curb, scraping underside paint off both corners.

Interior comfort questionable - 2005 Honda Odyssey
By John - March 1 - 7:13 amAs a tall male, the driver seat has a # of problems. The power seat will not go low enough for good site,if seat set back to provide leg room, cant reach the steering wheel unless you lower the steering wheel and then you cant see the speedometer. The side lumbar seat cushion is so narrow that you must be extremely small of hips or you are sitting in the seat well and on the sides of the seat. Very uncomfortable for trips of more than 3 hours. Outside temperature gauge is toggled with the odometer so you can either see your total mileage or outside temperature, but not both. For some strange reason you have two( 2) trip odometers in case you cant figure out how far it is on the return trip

A minivan that a dad could drive - 2005 Honda Odyssey
By OurFirstHonda - February 21 - 9:50 pmWow! This is a fun minivan to drive. The powertrain has great response & Oomph when you want it, yet its very smooth to drive around town or through winding roads. My wife drives it mostly, doing the mommy thing with two kids in tow. She loves it, and finds it very easy to drive - she says its very much like our Camry was. I love that it doesnt feel like a minivan - on the highway its very smooth/stable going 80+. Likewise its easy to manuever around town, tight turns & parking lots. Built-in Traction control makes it stable in snow & heavy rain - thats if your tires arent worn. Its a great family vehicle - roomy & flexible as a van, safe & easy to drive as a large car.

Great Minivan - 2005 Honda Odyssey
By Art - January 24 - 11:03 amI had my dealer add fog lights which come standard on the Touring. I bought the Honda custom 1st and 2nd row rubber heavy duty floor mats for the 2005 (they accomodate the lazy Susan in the floor- earlier mats wont work), a sunroof wind deflector and a Honda leather steering wheel wrap, all from online sources and installed them myself. The deflector took 10 minutes, the wheel about 1.5 hrs. I wish full auto headlights were available in the EX as in the Touring. Thats really my only criticism. With 1400 miles on the vehicle, around town mileage is somewhat below par - about 17 mpg. One road trip so far was 26.1 mpg at 80 mph. Would probably have hit the estimate EPA 28 mpg at 70 mph.
