  • Bad Choice on my part - 2005 Honda Odyssey

I am ready to sell it after one week. Last car was 01 T&C LXI which was quiet and had good sound system. Honda road noise on highway unsatisfactory despite active sound controls. What were they thinking. 120 watt stereo muffled at low volume, only hear tweeters - main speakers are set to low by feet and cant get aftermarket stereo. Diversity antenna in side window looses signal. Cant open 2nd. row windows too much air buffeting noise - need tail swing out windows as in Sienna. trailer towing requires expensive addons. Interior plastic scratches easily.

This vehicle is very comfortable. It has been driven to Florida from Massachusetts with a 6 month old infant & all the things that go with a baby & there was plenty of room left to spare. The ride itself was also quite comfortable. We had made the trip before in a Ford Explorer Sport Trac & we were much more happy with our new 2005 Honda Odyssey.

Two weeks after taking delivery in Ohio we headed south 1200 miles to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Everything about this vehicle has been superb. Its quiet operation and powerful response is amazing. It has every amenity we could imagine. The seats are plush and much more comfortable than our 2000 Odyssey. The sound system is a delight and the voice commend system is very easy to use. The ride is one of a luxury car. The handling is a joy. As senior citizens, we particularly like the attention to safety, such as the rearview camera, the parking sensors and the updated navigation system which is much more friendly than our old one. Dropping and raising the rear 40/60 seats is now a breeze.

2 complaints...noisier ride than 3 previous Odysseys. Wind tunnel effect produced when rear windows are down unless front windows are also open

  • Greatest Minivan Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 2005 Honda Odyssey

We had a 2000 Odysey EX, and wanted a newer van, so we looked at Toyota, and was so close to buying it, then we looked at the Honda and bought it hands down. The nav. and the DVD player are great. There are a few quality problems, like a space on the top of the DVD player where a DVD got stuck into. Other than that, this is the best minivan you can ever buy!

  • Excellent family vehicle - 2005 Honda Odyssey

we searcgewd long and hard to upgrade from our 2000 Dodge Caravan. We liked the idea of fold-down seats but thought the new Dodge seats looked cheap and uncomfortable. We decided to go with the 2004 Odyssey or the Toyota van... until we saw the 2005 Odyssey! This is the perfect combination of people-moving conveinience and luxurious comfort!

  • Acura of Minivans - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Purchased a Touring NAV/RES in Silver Pearl with Black Leather three weeks ago, and I must say this is one very nice vehicle. This model has the feel and features of an Acura but the versatility of a large minivan. We absolutely love it! Great design - inside and out. The only vehicle that is even in the same class is the Sienna Limited but we came up with 20 reasons why we felt this is a better vehicle (for a list of the 20 reasons, visit my post #826 "Top of the Line Comparison" in the Odyssey vs. Sienna- 2005+ forum). If you are looking to buy, you can also visit my post #6633 "Pricing - Tips and Observations" in the Odyssey-Prices Paid & Buying Experience forum.

Overall I am very pleased with the quality, function, handling & comfort. I had, however, expected better mileage. A recent test of a 1200 km (720 mile trip on good paved expressways gave me about 25 mpg travelling at speeds of 70 - 75 mph. This is poor when compared to previous mileage of 30 to 32 for my Lincoln Town Car and Ford Windstar.

  • Very Good MinvVan - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Weve had our van for over a month now and we are very happy. Weve had only one issue with it, a whistling noise coming from the passenger side, did my research and there is a fix for it, re- designed wiper cowl. The gas mileage is OK. Pretty close to the advertised EPA. This is the first time Ive bought a car on the first production year and Im not sure if Id do it again. There are some rattles from the sun visor on the passenger side when down. Overall its a great family vehicle. Its also the best value.

All the independent reviews rate this minivan as the BEST. We bought it because of the safety features. Its also asthetically more appealing than the Toyota Sienna, especially from the side view. In practice the Honda has performed every bit as good as the reviews suggested it should.
