We traded our 2002 Odyssey because we were getting our third transmission at 51,000 miles. Weve had other Hondas without problem so we decided to give it one more shot. So far so good, only 1,000 miles driven, and we love all the upgrades the 2005 has. The third row goes down without removing headrest, my wife loves the sunroof, I like the better mileage, the doors seem to work smoother, the illumination of the controls on the dash are cool, we like the layout of stereo and air controls better and definitely like having the controls on the steering wheel. For the money, I think we got a lot more with the 2005. Hopefully we got a better transmission.

  • Best minivan to date... - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Despite this seeming like the typical mininvan "mom-mobile"....it is definitely not. I drove a large SUV for the last several years and loved it. With my 3rd child on the way, even the bigger SUVs wouldnt have been convenient. Despite my resistance to convert to a minivan, I looked at the Odyssey just before making another purchase of an SUV. The convenient features, the new styling and the quality of the ride won me over. Its so much easier hauling two young children in the new Odyssey compared to my last SUV. The only other minivan I also considered was the Sienna for the AWD feature.

  • Reliability stinks - 2005 Honda Odyssey

I have never wrote a review before, but this one deserves it. I have had nothing but problems from day one with this Honda. Nav. will not work. Seats heaters smell like they are burning inside. Will not start in the cold or rain. Brakes squeak. Been in for service six times for a total of 38 days. Service at the dealership STINKS!

  • A New Benchmark... - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Outstanding performance, never considered a mini-van until now, it has the style and power to be more than a family car. I will consider this over many SUV. The safety features are extra- ordinary; 6 airbags, ABS, Stability Assistance, Pedestrian protection, Unibody.... they just didnt stop in satey at all. Interior, without question the Navi- System in the market (yes!, better than Lexus, BMW and other top contenders. Great materials and space improvement (how is that no wheelbase change but interior increased by 2 long and 1 wide inches). Reliabilty, well.... we all know how Hondas are. Odyssey... the best mini-van is back.

This vehicle is far and above any other minivan that i have owned, namely the nissan quest. It drives like a small luxury car, but hauls like an suv. It has almost to the inch, the interior hauling space that my ford expedition had. It is very easy to see out of. It has lots of pickup, the nissan was sluggish. It has full size seats that are very comfortable.

  • finally a minivan worth bying - 2005 Honda Odyssey

I Love cars. I own several ... My new addition is the Honda odyssey Touring with Navigation and in one word it is becoming one of my favorites: Steering is impressive, power - wow, luxury and a navigation that put all the others to shame. I was going to buy the Sienna till I drove the honda. I felt the steering and the performance was remakably better, ie, NO COMPARISON.

  • Great Car in a Mini Van - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Its been just under 2 months since we had this 2005 OdysseyEX w L & Navi and have done about 2000 miles in driving. We drove from Philadelphia to Toronto and back with two toddlers, who were well entertained in the back seat and had very few complaints. The Navigation system helped find our way around in Ontario to which we were new. The Odyssey feels like driving an luxury SUV with its power and smooth ride. The only con is the fuel economy on long drives. I got 22 mpg as agint 25 to 28 which is listed in the specs.

  • Very dissatisfied - 2005 Honda Odyssey

The seats in this vehicle are terrible. After about 20 minutes in this vehicle I am in agony. The leather seams across the seats dig into my thighs. The side bolstering is so stiff it bruises my hips on long trips. I am 6"4" tall -can hardly reach the stearing wheel. When I tilt the wheel down the speedometer is completely concealed. The ergonomics are horible. The vehicle performs and handles well but is an absolute rattle- trap. The headliner sounds like it is going to come unglued. So far I have had to have body panel flaws and weatherstriping problems. Just started to have trouble with door handle on passenger side door handle and cd player skipping.Gas mileage not near what they claim

  • Braking Issues - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Love the Odyssey except for a few problems. Gas guzzler for one thing, but a guess a vehicle this size it is expected. I have been having some brake issues. If traveling at a high rate of speed and then brake quickly. The next few miles of slow braking causes the brakes to make a grinding sensation. Wonder if it is a caliper problem. Also, starting out of driveway in the A.M, I am getting a little hesitation and noise when putting the vehicle in drive. Overall, satisfied with this van.

  • 05 Touring edition - 2005 Honda Odyssey

I really like the tourng version. I traded my Acura RL on this vehicle and was not dissapointed. It rides a little rough, but handles better than my 3.5 RL. I drive an 04 sienna on a regular bassis and the toyota has MAJOR body roll when compared to the Touring Honda. The Toyota has a good deal more engine noise as well.
