  • Love my Honda - 2005 Honda Odyssey

I love my honda, it is the first one I have owned and purshased it after driving all the competors vans. This one drove the best and was the most comfortable, not only in the front but the second and third row seats are comfortable as well, cant say that about some of the others we tried. So far the only problems we have had are with the tires. I feel Honda made a bad choice on tires, we are having to replace ours and we dont even have 30,000 miles on it yet, and they cost almost $200 each. According to our service rep. this is only a problem on the touring model and not the others. Other than the tires this van is perfect!

This van has been so carefree that after 11,000 miles, I have had no glitches at all. The switch from 6 to 3 cylinders is not at all evident. Overall - one great machine.

  • Cant Beat It! - 2005 Honda Odyssey

We just got our 2005 Odyssey last week. It is a true pleasure to drive. We have already taken full advantage of the 8th seat. We went on a drive- thru Christmas light display w/ me, my wife, 4 kids, and my mother-in-law and father-in-law. I was amazed how much room there was. I traded my 2000 Ford Windstar LX after having the transmission serviced 3 times in less than a year. We drove the Dodge, Mazda and the Toyota. The Toyota was the only other one that came close. You can get the Toyota Sienna LE in an 8 passenger model, but it costs extra, where the Honda EX comes standard as an 8 passenger. Honda is the best!

I drive with the cruse controll on 80 to 90% of the time,at the speed limit or slower. My gas mileage on the Highway is 28 to 30 miles per gallon. The Intown mileage is 22 to 24 miles per gallon. I have the leather interior and couldnt be more pleased. I havent had the first problem with my vehicle.

  • I like it but have noticed some negatives - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Best minivan available for the cost. The noise is unbearable if you open sliding door windows without at least cracking the front windows. It is so loud it is painful. Many of "safety features" are annoying to us. One that aggravates me the most is if I unlock car with remote from inside the house, it relocks itself before I get to it. Even with complaints, I would buy it again. Gas mileage not great.

  • A little disappointed - could be better - 2005 Honda Odyssey

We have had several problems with this van. Both passenger doors creak when stopping and starting. They have tried to fix but and cant. Our serpentine belt came loose and took a week to find. TPMS light comes on a regular basis on trips. Had to relearn the system. Gas mileage stinks. Roughly 13 in town and 22 hwy. For this being the top of the line for Honda, my 2003 Town&Country Limited was more luxuious and came with better features. Run flats are nice but cant find anyone to replace just the tire in KY. Can only replace the whole tire and rim assembly. Cost is $600 per tire to replace.

Great handling, huge interior (compared), powerful and quiet engine, somewhat frugal, great engineering details, somewhat shabby assembly... Really a great minivan, leaps and bounds above the US manufacturers and I think better the whyne engined Toyota.

  • Minivan for NONminivan people - 2005 Honda Odyssey

My husband had to convince ME that we needed a minivan for our young, expanding family. (We are only in our mid twenties). I was determined to buy a Toyota until we test drove the Odyssey. It is SUPERB. We test drove on a saturday and went back to the dealership the following weekend to purchase. I like the way it handles like a car. I feel safe. When you drive the Odyssey you dont feel like a "minivan person".

Good family transportation. I recently took my family of 5 on a 3,500 trip and can only log a few complaints. I am 64 and could use a bit more leg room. The steering wheel block my view of the speedometer at highway speeds. The van does not offer integrated 3rd row sun shades like the Toyota van; the optional curtains looked so out of place, I decided not to have them installed.
