When we bought this 2005 Odyssey we traded in a 2002 Odyssey which I really loved. The 2005 Odyssey has lived up to all expectations. It is definitely quicker and faster and more powerful. It is so easy and convenient to drive and I love all the "settings" that are available on it (although I thought learning to use the "settings" required a high learning curve). The other day motion sensors on the back kept me from backing into a car that came racing through the parking lot as I was backing out.

We have owned this van for about a month and we have taken several trips. We love everything about the van but the seats. They have to be the worst seats I have even been in. They are very unconformable. Friends of ours have a Dodge caravan and its seats are 1000 times better, but dont get me wrong I wouldnt buy anything but a Honda. We test drove every mini van out there and we decided to buy the best overall value and thatÂ’s a Honda Odyssey.

  • Better then most, best buy period!! - 2005 Honda Odyssey

So far it rides and handles a lot better then all the other vans in the market. I love that 255hp it has. It has some luxury feel to it from the inside as well, it has many useful features that you can truly use, and I also like the fact that they offer the underground kit which gives it a sporty look. Im a little speed demon myself and I had that van almost up to 130 mph and if I kept going it would have gone up more - thats one awesome van.

  • Good Van EX/L Nav Entr. - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Overall it is a nice car, with a lot going for it. The handling is very good, it has plenty of power, and one feels well protected. I enjoy driving it. The NAV system has some really good features, I particularly like being able to put in the destination (businesses only) as the telephone number, and the system looks up the address very quickly, assuming the business has not moved recently. The backup camera that comes with the system is also very usefull. The XM capable radio is also nice, and the 6 CD changer and rear DVD player and seperate audio via wireless headphones for rear passingers. Gas mileage is less than expected. Power sliding doors are nice too. Voice commands are good.

Warped rotor discs on day one. Air conditioning was/is weak after replacing the control head. Run flat tires are terrible, 21K and they are nearly bald, yet the dealer is still pushing them at 45-50K. Called Michelin and they said you should get 35-40K as well and when I told them of my plight they said take it to a tire place for their consideration. Dealership after one year still cannot replace rubber on tire and am having difficulty finding a shop that can replace them. Dealership also stated that if the rim is rubbed in any way, you must buy new rim system with tire for about $600. Highly discourage this vehicle for all considering.

We enjoy our car so far. The navigation system is very nice. The DVD system is 9 inches which is also nice. I like the fact that Rear Entertainment system allows me to hear something different from my kids. Performance of the car is great and I like the idea that the engine can shut down 3 cylinder to save gas. 8 seater is nice. You cant use the lazy susan if you store the eight seat.

  • Expecting more... - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Was expecting more based on the reviews and am disappointed on some very obvious things missing. Dont get me wrong I dont hate the van; but expected a bigger difference compared to domestic mini-vans. For example, I owned a 97 Venture; didnt have a problem with it (didnt buy another because of resale and 05 being last year of it). I would like to see automatic headlights and daytime running lamps as standard; wouldnt that be a big preventive safety feature versus all the reactive safety features on the Honda??? In summary, the Honda is fun to drive and handles like a car. Gas mileage is a bit disappointing; but better than the Yukon I just came from.

We have had our 2005 Odyssey EX for just over a month now. We absolutely love it! We replaced our 04 Accord as we wanted a family car that was roomy. It is VERY spacious with an extremely well thought out interior design. It is also very flexible in the arrangement of the seats, etc. I wish the gas mileage was better, but what more can you expect for a 255HP, and Very Powerful, engine (and compared to similar models, the mileage actually is much better).

  • Again the BEST - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

It is a nice mini-van that handles like a car. Very quiet and comfortable, many nice features. Great performance, can easily beat some "high performance" European sedans. Good (and wide) tires). Very roomy and easy accessible rows.
