  • This van rocks! - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Ive owned the previous two Odyssey styles (95 and 2003), and this is by far an improvement in every way. The driving and handling is so superior to previous minivans that I dont feel like Im driving a van at all. I love the improved seating comfort, better stereo, sunroof, and triple zone climate control. I have had no build defects yet. Mileage is 22 to 26 after 2900 miles.

  • Think Carefully Before Buying Touring - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

We love Honda, and we love our Odyssey. We were excited about the extra features of the Touring model, but we wished we had not bought it: 1)The parking sensors have malfunctioned erratically, but never at a dealership. 2)The PAX tire technology is not widespread. If you get a flat (even a nail), the entire wheel must be replaced by an authorized dealer (very few are certified and have them in stock) and cost is approx. $500. Dont have a flat tire unless you are within 150 miles of an authorized dealer! 3)There is no way to manually open the power lifegate if the power malfunctions. The power liftgate is also difficult and time consuming to repair.

  • I actually love it... - 2005 Honda Odyssey

I was a truly reluctant minivan buyer. I was never going to be one of those parents driving these vehicles. Honestly, once I decided to explore the possibility, the Honda blew away my expectations. Like most others, I considered the Sienna for its AWD feature, but it never stacked up to the Honda despite that advantage. I listed many improvements that could be made to the vehicle, but none would deter me from buying again. The endless feature list is to voluminous to detail. The 255 HP engine is a joy. Smooth and powerful with virtually unnoticeable gear shifting. I hate to admit but I am a convert.

  • Best Minivan - 2005 Honda Odyssey

We bought this minivan over the Toyota mainly because of the sales experience. Toyota was pushy and did not have any models we wanted in stock. We were hesitant at buying a minivan just because of the style but we found out it drives smoothly for a minivan and the turn radius is magnificent. The backup camera is great but it makes things look farther away then what they are. My son absolutely loves the DVD, especially with the 9" screen compared to Toyotas 7". There is plenty of room for 7 passengers and cargo. The second row seats slide forward for easy entry into the third row. Gas mileage could be better, only getting 17 vs 20 that they say.

  • 30-Something Van Owner - 2005 Honda Odyssey

Bought the van, and I love it (never thought I would say that, by the way). This van is very practical and functional as a van should be. I wish the paint quality on the bumper was better, it seems to chip off very easily. But, who cares, its a van, right! It drives exceptionally well, and the kids enjoy being up high and seeing everything. Seat comfort is fine for me, but everyone is different. There is a slight rattling sound near the passenger side slider, but who cares, its a van, right! All in all, it blows away most vans on the market today (I test drove them all), and the extra money spent on this van versus the domestic junk out there is well worth it. • Odyssey Brake System - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I have been driving 29500 freeway miles, The Honda dealership replaced all four wheel brake pads around 18,000 miles with upgraded pads (they said upgraded parts by Honda), now when I hit the brake, the steering wheel is shaking, The dealership said the problem is not covered on warranty, also not resolve the problem unless the front disks (rotors) are replaced. I think Honda used undersized brake disc for front wheel comparing with my other vehicle, which runs slightly more than my Odyssey. this is the my current problem. I think it needs improvement.

  • ody 05 touring - 2005 Honda Odyssey

I researched the minivans online and decided to order the touring 05 Honda I have been very pleased ..more than I even thought I would be when I ordered it. I had driven it to Mt Baldy during the recent storms while other cars had been stuck in the middle of the road my minivan went right around and right up the mountain I was very impressed. The custom heating/air great for driving home my young hockey player who is over heated after a practice while I am very cold from watching. The voice activated commands are very convenient, if it only told me that it loved me too. The sun roof was not a feature that I would have chosen but I have enjoyed the stars at night.

  • Problems!!!! - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Been in Shop a few times, power door motors replaced, heating problem in winter not yet resolved, sad to say, not as nice as my neighbors AWD Sienna. If I had to do it all over, I would have gone with AWD Sienna. In my opinion, Honda quality has slipped, and when I think of quality, I think of Honda service, and Im sorry, Toyota simply blows them away. There was a time not too long ago when that wasn’t the case.

  • Odyssey #2, More of the same - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

We own the 2003 & 2005. I got the 05 for the same price and with more features than our 03. Outside is stylish with nice lines & is put together well. The leather seats are not as comfortable as the Lxi; leather seems hard and seats are too firm. Controls: within reach and intuitive. Mirror defrosters: nice. AC works great, but heating seems slow. Visibility is good. ++ moonroof and roll down 2nd row windows with sun shades. I do not miss rear window vents. Storage is great. DVD and music systems are good. Fold down seat is nice and easy to operate. Good acceleration, easy braking, smooth transmission. No extra noises. Mileage is what I expected.

  • Whistling Wind - 2005 Honda Odyssey
    By -

We recently purchased our first mini van and, based upon research and reviews, chose the Honda Odyssey EX- L. I have been impressed with the performance and overall comfort with the vehicle. However, between 35 and 60 m.p.h. we have a very distinct wind whistle on the passenger side. Upon taking the mini van back to the dealership, we were told that it was a manufacturing defect (several other new odysseys have the same problem) and there is no known remedy at this time. I am pleased with the vehicle overall, but am very disappointed with Hondas inability to fix this problem. I have been informed from our dealership that this has become a common complaint.
