This Year's Model Updates:

Most significant for the Honda minivan this year is the option to get the Touring trim with the rear-seat entertainment system and not the navigation system. Previously, the two features were always packaged together. Other changes this year include additional child-seat tether anchors for the third row and standard satellite radio for the Touring model. Finally, stated power output for the Odyssey's V6 engine has dropped slightly due to Honda's adoption of a new SAE horsepower-rating procedure.

Pros:
  • Split flat-folding rear bench
  • Agile, carlike handling
  • Optional eight-passenger seating
  • Strong reliability record.
  • Extensive feature list
  • Smooth and powerful V6

  • Cool van! - 2006 Honda Odyssey

This 2006 Touring is remarkably better than the 2000 Windstar SEL we previously had. And the price was only $1,000 more!

This is the best vehicle I have ever owned! I feel like for the first time I am in a vehicle that was truly researched for what a driver would want - I cant find anything I do not like about the van. I wish I hadnt gotten one sooner.

  • EX-L RES/NAV So far so good. - 2006 Honda Odyssey

My wife and I have only had the van for two weeks, and will update the review once I put a few thousand miles on it. It is a joy to drive and the kids enjoy the DVD system.

  • Oil Leak From Day One - 2006 Honda Odyssey
    By -

My brother bought the car on 9/18/2006 from ValStrough Honda in Monterey, CA. He drove the car home (30 miles) and parked it in the garage. Two days later, I discovered a puddle of oil under the car. I checked under the car and it seemed to be leaking from the oil pan gasket. My brother took the car back immediately. The service dept was already closed so they checked the car the next day. They acknowledged that there was "oil residue", but were unable to find the source or replicate the leak. They told my brother drive it around some more and bring it back if it leaks again. He drove it home. Still leaking! Big Surprise! Hes going to take it back tomorrow. Ill keep you posted.

  • Excellent MiniVan - 2006 Honda Odyssey
    By -

We love our Odyssey! We previously had a Dodge and Chrysler minivan. They were okay, but did not handle and ride as nice as the Odyssey. Plus, the appearance is so much better! The only thing I miss from my old vans is the power rear hatch, but fortunately, the Odysseys door is much lighter.

  • Love My Van! - 2006 Honda Odyssey

I love almost everything about my Van. I wish the driving lights button could stay on without beeping when I open the door. My Husband thinks the seats are not very comfortable for long trips. I thought It was extremely comfortable.

  • Wonderful Van - 2006 Honda Odyssey

Great Van! I traded in my 2004 Odyssey EX-RES for the 2006 EX. I love the re-design, and I couldnt be happier with my new vehicle. The ride is smoother, handles better, and has more cupholders than my family could ever dream of using.

  • Awesome w/ Two Major Exceptions - 2006 Honda Odyssey
    By -

This van is awesome!!! Handling, interior & options for the money. There are two major exceptions. There is significant vibration from 6 cylinder to 3 cylinder and the paint job is very lacking (unacceptable). The plastic injection molded pieces (front bumper, rear bumper, spoiler) are not completely painted and you can see the plastic through the paint. In summary the paint did not take to the plastic. You can only see this on the white vans. Other than that it is a GREAT VAN!!

  • Seriously Consider Tires - 2006 Honda Odyssey
    By -

This is my second Honda Odyssey. We decided to "upgrade" to the 2005 Touring because of all its great features including run-flat tires. Little did we know that even in a city as big as Houston there are only four places certified to replace the tires. Not even my Honda dealership can touch the tires! Mine only have 22,000 miles on them are going to cost around $300 each to have them replaced. Although I love my van, Im beginning to have some regrets about buying it. It is worth a little extra research time to decide whether this is really the van for you.

Great vehicle to drive and ride in. Had a large SUV previously and do not miss it plus there is more room in the Odyssey.
