Overview & Reviews
The Odyssey gains a number of improvements this year. Included with the Odyssey 2.1 upgrade is more power, a new five-speed transmission, standard rear disc brakes and side airbags, optional leather seating and DVD entertainment, two new exterior colors and minor interior storage refinements.
- Excellent crash-test scores, huge interior, fold-flat third-row seat, powerful V6, optional navigation and entertainment system, a bargain at sticker price.
- Slow power sliding doors, dealer markup still a possibility.

Excellent Vechicle - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By KC - March 19 - 2:00 amFor a couple refusing to go the minivan route, we found the Oddessy to be the best in class when we purchased. Very roomy, handles great, nice acceleration, like the rear climate controls and seat warmers are cool (dont tell the kids). Great resale value too. The well in the back adds extra storage the other vans dont have and allows you to roll the seat back without emptying the "trunk". Overall I would clearly recommend this van over any other.

Very happy with new Odyssey - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By Odyssey - Ft. Worth - March 12 - 10:00 amWe are very happy with our new Odyssey. Just back from a trip with our almost 2 year old and parents to visit some family. 23 MPG highway, 75 mph, both ACs blowing cold (it is August in Texas you know...). Comfortable for all travelers.

Try the best - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By racokid - March 12 - 10:00 amWe have had 7 vans over the years (6kids) and continue to buy them after we retired. Love them for travel. This is our second Honda van, the first was traded after 139,000 miles, because we wanted leather seats. Our old one still going strong at almost 200,000 miles with new owner. We have had all the vans, by big three, our town and country was the best until the Honda.

Comfortable/Pronounce noise - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By Al1Lynn - March 11 - 2:00 amComfortable, smooth ride. Quiet engine that is economical on gas. Considerable leg room even in last seat. Interior gadgets could be more sturdy and stable. This vehicle could enter the luxury line if road and wind noise were not so pronounced.

7 seat sports car - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By bertram56 - March 8 - 2:00 amWe bought a pre-owned w/ 16000 miles. It was in excellent condition, and with the added warranty periods(12/12 bumper2bumper, 100k powertrain) it was a much better value than buying brand new. The only issues we have noticed have been the steering wheel stereo controls went out(promptly replaced)and we are hearing a slight rattle from the sliding doors like maybe the control cables are not secured properly. Other than those two things we have absolutely no complaints. With the 240hp V6 and the responsive steering, I tell friends its like driving a seven seat sports car. We love it.

NO COMPLAINTS - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By nachtaluci - February 23 - 2:00 amI looked at the caravan first and test drove both, even though the Honda is more money, it is well well worth it. The gas mileage is excellent, very happy with vehicle thus far.

one year later - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By JMR - February 11 - 2:00 amBought the Ody last February - great from the start. However after one year and about 13,000 miles I needed four new tires. Also I notice a lot of cabin noise - the rear doors sound funny. Took it to a honda dealer to be fixed and they say they dont hear the rattle. Also I notice the gas tank makes swashy noises.

Great Looking Minivan! - 2002 Honda Odyssey
By Estela - January 28 - 2:00 amWe bought the Odyssey after much thought and after looking at other makes. It has been a year now, and would never give it back. It rides very comfortably and handles great. I love the third row that folds flat and the second row captain seats. I am not thrilled about the power sliding doors, but have to admit they are convenient when you have your hands full and just push a button and door opens for you. Gas mileage is not impressive, but does better than previous SUV I had . Overall, I would recommend if you not only want a nice looking minivan, but one that rides very comfortably, handles great and of course you cant beat Honda reliability.
