Hate it, but I love this Minivan - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By morganwife - August 14 - 10:00 amI was one of those folks: "Ill never drive a minivan." But I do...and its SO convenient...and the Odyssey is wonderful. Its got pick-up like a car, and convenience that I never dreamed of having. When my boys are older, I confess, Ill dump it for a "regular" vehicle, but for now...it cant be beat!

No more Hondas! - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By al - July 25 - 12:32 amI have owned over 7 Hondas in the last 10 years and am thoroughly dissapointed with my 03 EX w/DVD. Only 37k to date All of this fun for a $29000 van: 1. Michelin tires-junk after 20k w/rotations. 2. replaced trans 2x 3. TCS light-intermittent 4. lt slider-came off the track 5. poor gas mileage 6. ck engine light-numerous occasions 7. battery after 2000 miles Next van will definitely not be a Honda.

expected more - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By mrbuick - July 19 - 2:00 amleft dealer lot and got on highway,van shakes at 60mph,so much for pre delivery inspection.seat heater marginal at best,radio controls in steering wheel and window switches on doors are not back lite at night.have to fumble around to use.also seat heater switches are in terrible location and do not cycle off with key each time used.acc power plug on front dash in terible location on floor.first time import car owner was told honda is #1,well i guess they still have a lot of homework to do on the odyessy. not worth the money for level of trim and features.

The worst HONDA on the market - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By importjunk - July 8 - 10:00 amWhen buying this vehicle, my family and I expected excellent service like our Accord gave us. Instead of which this car just kept breaking down and was in constant need of repairs. The sliding doors kept breaking no matter how many times they were fixed. The radio had to be replaced since it scratched Cds, and the windows dont close properly. I wish Edmunds would stop picking on Chryslers minivan (what I shouldve bought) and its reliability, which is fine, and start on Hondas, which is HORRIBLE. I also find it funny that the Editors Rating is lower on the Honda than the Chrysler, as this is the only thing Edmunds did right.

Dodge/Chrysler is certainly better - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By Jay_dee_ess - June 6 - 2:00 amI personally didnt like this vehicle one bit. My wife liked it when we bought it but it has proven to be the worst vehicle that we have bought. We paid a fair bit of money for it, and DESPITE what edmunds says, it LACKS FEATURES. The Sound system (although we got the highest available) is among the worst I have ever seen in a car. The stock sound system in a Caravan is better, let alone the available Infinity system in Caravans. The transmission has gone twice on this vehicle. Both sliding doors have broken, and they are slow beyond belief. There is no easy way for a passenger to bypass the power feature. Look into a Dodge or Chrysler instead.

Just list problems we have: 1)Replaced both front struts(1st month)2)A/C broken after 3 months3)Replaced clock light4)Idle control valve(idle speed up/down automatically)5)Rear break squeaks but Honda says it is normal 6)Transmission failed at 15k. Having own few Toyotas, wanted to try Honda. What a disappointment!

Excellent van with few flaws - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By BamaFlum - May 12 - 2:54 pmExcellent value for the money. We bought to accomodate our two kids and after the purchase found out we were having a third! Fit and finish are superb. The engine is responsive and has lots of pep. Fuel economy is very poor (in the SUV range). One recall problem (tranny) fixed without any problems and our dealer was very professional about it(we never had any problems with the tranny). Van has lots of room and the rear storage area is cavernous. Auto doors can pinch little fingers, but we have learned to live with the quarks others have mentioned. Great van for a family.

Good Minivan...but need more improvement - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By pdoalamo - May 2 - 10:00 amI purchased the 2003 Ody EX-L. It was great to drive it with more horse power and big interior room. Reverse sensor is useless and dealer included into the MSRP. The sound is really annoying my children when dring backward. I have been driving a car for 10 years without reversed sensor and it is OK to me.

Pretty Darn Good Overall - 2003 Honda Odyssey
By Honda 1st timer - April 25 - 2:00 amOwner for 6 mos, 9,000 miles. Love the smooth power, quickness, stable handling and relative (to our Windstar) quietness. Fold-down seat is very handy. Drivers seat uncomfortable. Sound system is substandard. Sliding door is always a problem - sticks so I have to get out and yank so kids can get in. In fact, would not open when we picked up at the dealer. Also grime on the interior and ripped fabric at delivery - none of which was rectified by dealer. However, if I get the mechanical reliability experience and longevity that I hear so much about, I will be very happy regardless.
