This Year's Model Updates:

Most significant for the Honda minivan this year is the option to get the Touring trim with the rear-seat entertainment system and not the navigation system. Previously, the two features were always packaged together. Other changes this year include additional child-seat tether anchors for the third row and standard satellite radio for the Touring model. Finally, stated power output for the Odyssey's V6 engine has dropped slightly due to Honda's adoption of a new SAE horsepower-rating procedure.

Pros:
  • Split flat-folding rear bench
  • Agile, carlike handling
  • Optional eight-passenger seating
  • Strong reliability record.
  • Extensive feature list
  • Smooth and powerful V6

  • 2005 Quality Issues - 2006 Honda Odyssey

Fell in love with the 2005 Odyssey over the Sienna and others but the quality is lacking in many regards. The car has visited the service center multiple times. Wind noise, whistle from passenger side. Transmission sounds like it is going out. Windows already been serviced as they got stuck. Front center console stays in the down position, too noisy when extended. Hood is misaligned and told to take to get fixed. I have offered this vehicle for test drives to new customers, Honda refused because they know this vehicle wouldnt sell. 30,610 overpaid for this vehicle. Watch out!!

Second Odyssey weve owned. This is almost the perfect van. The seat to floor distance is perfect to shorter wife and fine for taller driver. Vehicle height while driving is good to see around area. Ride fit and finish very good. Absolutly no problems at 14000 miles.

I do have a little bit of a hard time saying that I drive a mini van however the pleasure in driving the ODDIE outways this issue! My wife and I drive all over the country for work in our Honda and really believe it must be the best vehicle for long trips and hauling luggage. We always look forward to our next long drive in Oddie.

This is the third Honda Odyssey weve had and by far the best!! It drives like a luxury car. My kids love the bigger DVD w/ surround sound and built in sun visors in the second row.

  • What happened??? - 2006 Honda Odyssey

I bought Honda based on reputation and its turning into a nightmare!!! Where to begin? Poor gas mileage, Brake shimmy and now new pads!!! Power doors closing, then opening, then closing again! Next time (in 2 years when lease is up), a Sienna!!!

  • Touring adds up to fun--with one minus - 2006 Honda Odyssey

The Touring has all the bells and whistles. I do not look forward to replacing the PAX tires in the future. Car is quiet and solid. Major gripe: hatch does not seal out water at bottom and leaves a horrid rust streak where bumper and hatch meet. This is pathetic!

  • Odyssey Has "Irreparable Noise"! - 2006 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I have owned an Odyssey for 6 weeks. I own or have owned two other Hondas with zero problems. After two weeks, this Honda began making funny under-hood noises. I have returned the vehicle to Honda three times in six weeks - I have been told three different stories: there is no problem, there is a "normal" non-repairable noise in the anti-lock brake system, and there is a "normal" noise in the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system. Dont worry - your brakes are fine! I have never owned a vehicle with such a problem - including two other Hondas. I believe Honda has a problem and does not yet have a fix. The noise has gone from nil, to intermittent, to every time you start and drive it.

I did not realize how big this Honda minivan was until I got it in my garage. Yet, it pulls hills like they werent even there. My wife loves all the extra room it has. She likes the rear seat storage compartment in the back floor as a place to put the groceries when she goes shopping. They dont slide around there. It is quiet, handles sharp curves well, effortless to drive. The overdrive works extremely well, does not jump in and out as my older vehicles did. It seems to be able to read your mind, and drops into overdrive only when the driving situation is right. On level highway the move to overdrive is gradual, until the engine rpm is down to 1100 - 1600 rpm, and quiet! 18-22 mpg in city.

  • Best vehicle I have ever owned - 2006 Honda Odyssey

Hands down, the best van on the road today. I love every feature and this van is truly my home away from home when I am on the road. I did a lot of research and the Toyota Sienna comes close but options seem confusing and overpriced.

  • Great Family Hauler - 2006 Honda Odyssey

Great van, all the trims, quiet on the highway, decent ergonomics. Plenty of amenities and driver personalization. The dealer is just Honda, not very good. So I recommend the shop manual for anyone, specialy if out of warranty. Very nice and polite, but cant fix much of anything.
