  • Not what we expected. - 2001 Honda Odyssey

The van starts up when you want it to and takes you where you want to go, but that is about it. The rear wiper arm stopped working twice, the windshield wiper wash stopped working, the sliding doors stopped working two or three times, two seat arms collapsed, noises came out of the front wheel wells when backing up the vehicle, etc. I am so tired of going to the dealership for service.

This is the best minivan Ive ever owned. Theres no engine noise on the freeway, period. The folding third row seat desing is also great. Adding the optional subwoofer makes the stock CD player more enjoyable.

  • Starting to have some problems .... - 2001 Honda Odyssey

We bought the Odyssey in July 2001 after extensive due-diligence. Loved the vehicle for next 14 months for obvious reasons, but now starting to have some very annoying problems: 1) body integrity is very poor (have had this problem on prior owned Hondas) as chips in paint on hood, bumper, etc starting to show after 18 months 2) both rear power doors have gone and had to be replaced by dealership (fully covered under warranty, but still a pain in the arse to have to spend a day at the Honda dealership), and now the passenger side has broken yet again (not looking forward to another trip to dealership - waste of my time).

This van does it all. We can take our 2 kids to the airport with us and pick up Grandparents, 4 lg pieces of luggage and all be comfortable for the trip home. No more taking two cars. Weve liked it so much, were trading for 2002 model.

  • Great Minivan - 2001 Honda Odyssey

Excellent Minivan. Very reliable, traction control, rear seat temperature fan control, foldaway 3rd row, lots of room even when the 3rd seat is up. My husband drives a 94 Accord, and when he drives on the highway, I usually have to remind him to check his speed, because he ends up above 80, without realizing it. I never thought I would drive a minivan, but now that I have it, I dont know what I would do without it. The 3rd row seat that folds into the floor is very convenient. The 2 captains chairs in the center can be pushed together, or kept separate. I love the van and would recommend it to anyone.

Tons of space, extremely reliable, easy to drive and configure, third row disappearing seat is incredible. Lots of power in the V-6 engine.

To all dodge/chrysler fans...I bought a dodge caravan and engine blew up on me after only a week, so I trade in for a HONDA. I LOVE this van expecially the auto sliding doors, the rear seats (very clever), cass/cd player, vtec power (240), extremely advanced technology wise.

zpoorly built vehicle. Dealer had to replace high-mount brake spoiler because the gasket underneath melted in hot weather. Rear light covers-cracked and peeled off. Dealer had to repaint the front bumper because of discoloration (yellow) - original paint is silver. Repaint part of roof top because of rust spot from under the paint! steering wheel cant to the left. Very loud metalic bang (like someone hits the engine w/a hammer) when the AC is engaged after engine started if the car is unused for overnight - the dealer still cant figure out!!!! I need advice!!!!

Just completed 879 miles from Dallas to Atlanta in one day. My average speed was about 80, with prolonged periods of 90-100MPH. Flawless performance. The interior room is amazing compared to Windstar (a recent vacation rental). The Honda can handle 6 people and their luggage to the airport, the Ford could not. Concern: Our Odysseys tranny had to be replaced after 18 months. Under slightly uphill loads the tranny hummed/squealed (almost un- identifiable), it took the Honda tech almost 20 minutes of me pointing it out until he recognized it. They replaced it under the warranty, no questions.
