We have hod very little problem with the car, and the dealership has been very good from the first day onwards. Even helped with stains on the rear carpet for no charge. The problem we have faced is that the fuel cap once broke down whilst on a long trip, which caused several warning lights to come on (took a lot of reading and calls to finally determine the problem), and reduced economy for that period.

We just bought an 01 ODDY from a private seller. It has 26.5k miles, like the mini so far. Ive read alot about the Tranny, and ours having a rough time shifting (up/down) between 20-25 mph when cold. After moving a bit, things would be fine. Taking it to dealer for a check with my extended warranty.

This van has transmission shifting problems. Despite constant visits to honda service for runnning rough they still cant get it right. The service departments constant reply is that all vehicle testing shows all is ok. This has been continuos for the past year or at about 16 k miles. Vehicle now has about 26k miles on it.

This is first minivan my family has owned. It is the best. Lots of room and lots of comfort. Road noise is a little harsh, but not a big problem. Power sliding doors are the best.Provides easy and instant access in and out. Definitely one of the best in the world.

This car doesnt sell at MSRP for no good reason-- its definitely in high demand because its a great car. If you have young children, this car does it all. Even if you dont, it does. We know more than one older couple who have bought this car just because its so well built and well designed. Its very flexible and comfortable on long trips. Highly recommended.

Our 2001 EX has 45,000 miles on it to date and we have not had a single problem. As a matter of fact, we are still on our original tires. Honda has delivered, in our opinion, exactly what they promised - a quality van that is reliable and unmatched by any other on the road. Our dealer was so confident that they included a 5 yr/100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty at no cost. But were glad we have not had to collect on it!

This was the first vehical we have owned that made it 70,000 miles with no service other than scheduled maintenance! It was recently totalled after being hit by a semi but I walked away without a scratch- lives up to the safety claims. Hope to have another one soon.

  • Hey, its a minivan - 2001 Honda Odyssey

Its been 2.5 years, and 24,000 miles. We have not had a single problem with this van. This is the first vehicle weve ever owned that has not had to go to the dealer for warranty work. The ride is firm, but I like it. The acceleration is good, plenty of power. The air conditioning works great. We really love this van. We havent had any problem with the power doors. There has been a little rattle in the right side of the dash, but nothing enough to make us take it in for adjustment. I really hate the climate control. Its a totally unnecessary option that will be very expensive to fix when it breaks.

Only one small problem with the power sliding doors. Other than that I have never had a problem with anything significant. If your in the market for a minivan, you MUST drive the Odyssey and let it speak for itself.

  • If I Could Turn Back Time... - 2001 Honda Odyssey

I cant believe we actually paid sticker price for this thing. At only 32,000 miles it rides like a lumber truck, the gas mileage around town stinks, the breaks began screeching during the first year, none of the seat belts retract by themselves anymore and we had to replace the windshield wipers the first year. The paint has chipped off several spots on the hood already. The seats are very uncomfortable on trips longer than 30 minutes. Every time it rains or I wash it, the sliding door seals stick and we cant open them. The sound system is pretty cheap sounding as well. Very, very disappointing!
