Overview & Reviews
Other than an improved database for the navigation system and a seatbelt reminder system, there are no significant changes for the '04 Odyssey.
- Excellent crash test scores, huge interior, fold-flat third-row seat, powerful V6, optional navigation and entertainment system.

As expected - 2004 Honda Odyssey
By Kevin - July 13 - 11:17 pmThis car is a horse. No problems to speak of. Battery might need replacing by winter. Rides smooth and quiet and has plenty of power. Tons of room and everything is laid out properly. Excellent ergonomics from front to back. Too bad no LX RES package offered anymore.

First Honda - 2004 Honda Odyssey
By Joe/jhkwrogers - April 28 - 2:00 amI never thought Id be caught dead in a mini-van but I love this Odyssey! It has space, comfort, power and gets good mileage. Its ideal for retirement travel, including picking up the grandkids from the airport. Drove it VA to Texas and back, 3200 miles, first week, 28 mpg. Traded a BMW 352 for this car but Im satisfied with its handling and performance, given its size and weight. So far, 11000 trouble free miles.

Odyssey - Positive and Negatives - 2004 Honda Odyssey
By Deborah - April 26 - 11:59 pmThe Odyssey was a wonderful touring van when I traveled over 8500 miles during the first summer I had it. The gas mileage was good on the trip and it performed perfectly. Ive always felt very secure on the highway while passing trucks and in inclement weather. My only complaint is with one of the sliding doors. In Florida, it wouldnt open and on a trip to Kentucky, it failed to open. Its frightening especially if there was an accident. I definitely feel I got a lemon on the door. This is the only problem Ive had with the van and when it happens, it is very annoying.

Great performer for long trips - 2004 Honda Odyssey
By D. Stone - April 23 - 10:00 amBought 2004 Odyssey in March of 2004. First Honda owner, previously Toyota owner, with a horrible mistake on a Chrysler Plymouth. Just took a 2500 mile round-trip from Central Texas to Seattle on our new Odyseey. Even though we average 700+ mile a day, our backs were not tired at the end of the day. The seats are excellent. Gas mileage range between 25 - 28 miles per gallon (except in Utah). Driving on the interstate through the mountains at 75 mph was an easy task for the Odyssey. The A/C is doing a great job now that we are back in the oven (I mean Texas). Recommend the Odyssey to anyone planning to do long trips.

Excellent, But... - 2004 Honda Odyssey
By BKHONDA - April 23 - 10:00 amGreat product. Superb fit/finish, quiet and powerful. But had to get wind noise from windshield fixed first day off lot, rear power window doesnt work, and fuel gauge must be inaccurate- -supposedly a 20-gallon tank, but reads empty and fuel light comes on when I really have 6.5 gallons left! A little disappointed in Honda quality control this time around, but still were happy with the van and it still has the best powertrain and handling of any of them!

Great Used Car - 2004 Honda Odyssey
By Throckmorton - April 10 - 4:09 pmI bought the van last year as a certified used with under 36K miles. I bought the extended bumper to bumper warranty. There have been several small issues with the car. The brakes made some noise and there was a squeak coming from the back. I had to bring the car in twice to get the issues fixed (road with the head of service the 2nd go round), but overall Im very satisfied with this car. I did just have to put a new battery in it, but the car is over 4 years old. It rides great and I find it extremely comfortable on long trips (what others call stiff, I think is support). Ive bought nothing but Honda/Acura over the last 14 years and this purchase will strengthen my loyalty.

Excellent van - 2004 Honda Odyssey
By Mili - March 20 - 8:20 pmWe bought this van in March of 2004 and had driven from Central Texas to Seattle, WA four times and twice to Orlando, Fl during that time. The minivan just had its 82,500 mile checkup. The only thing I had to replace was the break pads. Strong while climbing/driving through steep mountains at level of 10K to 12K feet high. Great fuel economy for its size and weight. In interstate can give up to 31 mpg (Wyoming & Utah), 20 mpg in the city and 20-25 mpg when you mix interstate & city traffic. I will definitely buy another Odyssey whenever is time for an upgrade. Previous minivan was a nightmare (Chrysler Voyager).
