not hondas best effort - 2000 Honda Odyssey
By bellybuttonlint - April 18 - 2:00 amAfter owning a plymouth voyager, i was disappointed in the quality of the hondas interior features and equipment. The cupholders are flimsy causing frequent spills. The stereo system is second rate for a car of this caliber. Doors and body creak. Brakes and suspension are noisy. Gas mileage is poor. The folding rear seat is a nifty feature. The middle row captians chairs do not recline very far and this annoys my children.

Only Wish It Were Quieter - 2000 Honda Odyssey
By porknpie - April 10 - 2:00 amCurrently have 54K miles on our Odyssey. Originally purchased new. If you are looking for a dependable used van, I would highly recommend. The 2000s have problems with the automatic door closing mechanism and evidently, the transmission. Honda fixed the door closer by relacing the motors on both sides free of charge and post the warranty period. Transmission warranty was extended to 100K miles. Overall, 20-21 MPG.

Great Van, Some Problems - 2000 Honda Odyssey
By avj97 - March 6 - 2:00 amWe have had the 2000 EX for almost 4 years. Its been a great van but has had some trouble spots. First those electric doors, we had to reset them at least twice and replace the motor on one side which is NOT cheap, fortunately they covered it under warrenty even though we had just passed 35,000. Second is the brakes. My husband says its the drums, they creak and make a lot of noise. Replacing the pads did not help. Sound system could be MUCH better and the front seats could be more comfortable. Other than that we have loved the van. It has enormous amounts of space and the seat flexibility is great.

The best vehicle I have ever owned!!! - 2000 Honda Odyssey
By ohioangels - February 21 - 2:00 amThis is the easiest van to drive! The vision is excellant, with little "blind" spots, if any. I put major miles on every year, and my I will never own another brand then Honda. Comfortable, reliable, easy to handle and to manover ... Honda has cornered the market!

Darn good van - 2000 Honda Odyssey
By paulbkirby - February 14 - 2:00 amWe bought this van used (Honda Certified) in 10/02. It had half the mileage of all the other Odysseys on the lot making me suspicious, but it was Certified so I figured we were safe. So far so good. We got it for several thousand under TMV and have been very happy with it to date. No mechanical problems. Electrical problem is only that the interior lights sometimes dont come on when the drivers door is opened. Annoying, but not a major issue.

never again - 2000 Honda Odyssey
By mjmcl - February 12 - 2:00 amAfter 4 sets of breaks and 2 sets of drums the breaking system sound like the axle is going to fall off. The side doors wount open when its cold. Neither of the problems could be solved by the dealership even after 2 1/2 years of trying. I bought a honda because they were suppose to be able to go over 100,000 miles, not this one.

transmission troubles - 2000 Honda Odyssey
By Hondaham - January 7 - 2:00 amI have owned this van for almost 3 years nad have had the transmission replaced two times (under warranty both times). I have been dissapointed in the engine quality for a Honda, other than that super vehicle.

2000 Odyssey - 2000 Honda Odyssey
By mogll - January 3 - 2:00 amOf all minivans we looked at, the Odyssey was by far the best value with outstanding engine performance in all driving terrains & conditions. The 3rd seat is great with its stowaway capability. If you remove the center seats you can fit a queen size air mattress completely under the 3rd seat with the air plug accessible from the rear hatch the mattress will extend all the way up to the front seats covering the entire floor area. This is a great configuration for long distance travel. My wife & I are about 66" and can completely stretch out side-by-side to sleep comfortably.
