  • Achy Breaky? - 2016 Honda HR-V

I love the utility and styling of the HRV. The seats are the most uncomfortable that I have ever sat in. You could use these as instruments of torture to get information from terrorists. I have to bring to dealer for service after only 3 weeks as pooling water under front passengers seat. I am considering trading or selling outright as has caused me to have sciatica. I think it would be a good vehicle if you do not drive long distances.

  • Disappointed with Honda - 2016 Honda HR-V

I love the style, like the drive BIGGEST problem.. Making a roaring sound while going up hills. Almost like vibration. Honda claimed it was a heat shield they fixed it & we are still having problems. Obviously wasnt a heat shield. Not happy.

  • Adequate car after 2005 Priius - 2016 Honda HR-V

The outside is good, the handling is good, the controls (layout) could be better (do not hide the climate controls behind the gear shift), and the multi-function display has no problems that rewriting the software (user interface) couldnt fix. I have to reach around the gear shift to adjust climate control, and the controls have no dimples, so I have to look at the controls (away from the road) to adjust (no buttons on the steering wheel for climate). When starting the HRV, the radio (multifunction display) the display does not go to the last screen I had displayed when I shut down; every time I start the car I have to press additional buttons to get back to the useable radio display - attention to detail is important guys...

  • What has happened to Hondas quality! - 2016 Honda HR-V

I currently own a 2015 CRV which I dislike more than any car I have ever owned. After 8 mons I have had more issues and simply tired of the service dept acting as though they see and feel nothing..I have been trying out other vehicles and this was one even though I have no intention of buying Honda again. This car is cute but the ride is so bad. I drove it while raining and it hydroplanes so bad at 40 mph..so does my CRV. I am female 120 lbs and this HRV is so tight feeling. My body is too close to the door, you have to work at it to get into the console, head rests make no sense, even getting in the way. I will never trust them again. They took my hard earned money for nice down payment, lied to my face day of purchase and then told me it was Hindas problem, not theirs. My neighbor bought the new Piot and has owned one for years but syas it has all changed..this new car is cheaper made and he is having huge issues..Dont hold out for them. They contcated me one time in all the mons I have owned crv and the conversation was scripted and cold. Im on a mission to find facts. Good Luck everyone.

  • Too much hype - 2016 Honda HR-V

What was really disappointing for this vehicle was the mechanicals. Shifting, powering down and starting up is very rough.

  • Give it a peppier engine and were in! - 2016 Honda HR-V

Wanted so much to like the car and we did, except for one little thing. The acceleration was like a bulldog on Valium. Give this car 30 more horses and you have a winner!

  • Great Idea but could use a few tweaks - 2016 Honda HR-V

I test drove and also researched a AWL HRV EX as a smaller alternative to a CRV LX. I loved the smaller overall size, good safety rating and adaptability of the seating which allowed the second row split seat to fold flat forward or fold back. The passenger seat folded backwards into a flat position and literature showed the ability to haul a kayak on that side of the car. The HRV also has a cute "hidden" back door handle that meets the triangular shaped rear side window. For the difference in exterior space between the 2016 HRV EX and 2013 CRV LX which I currently own, there was about 6 inches in width and length. However, the front seat of the HRV was quite cramped feeling (left to right) in comparison. Also, sitting in the front at a comfortable distance to the steering wheel and controls, (I am 53") felt like I was right up against the windshield. Headroom was very limited and I felt my 63" son would have to crouch sitting in the car whether front or back seat. My major concern, however, was in the smallness of Horsepower of the engine. (The HRV uses the same one as the Honda Fit). I previously owned the smaller 1998 Honda Odyssey for 12 years which many criticized for poor pickup and although lower (150) in HP than my current CRV (185), the Odyssey still scored 9 more horses than the HRV (141). I am a senior and dont have a need for speed but if I am going to have a car that can carry materials from home and garden centers or an occasional piece of furniture, I dont want to be straining on the highway. This is the first year the HRV is being offered and I am hoping that future models will address some of these concerns. It would be welcome also to see the price tag fall a bit lower in comparison to the CRV.

I really like this car but the poor acceleration and loud engine are real cons for this car. Why honda would not put a bigger engine in this car are beyond me. When I test drove it up a hill I actually thought the engine sounded like it was going to blow up. Its the same engine thats in the Fit, a lighter smaller car. I think the HRV needs more horsepower.

  • First ride impressions - 2016 Honda HR-V

I really think this a decently well equipped vehicle. I seem to be different and unique to everyone else. This is Honda and as a Honda product it is well built. I get disappointed with vehicle options across the board and with all manufacturers. First, I absolutely despise black interior. Gray seats is an option but the door trim, carpeting , and trim panels are all black. I work in the construction trade. With the mud on my boots and dirt on clothing I hate black. It shows everything. Another disappointment is the Ex-L with Nav trim level. I wish an EX-L trim was available like on the C-RV. Factory Nav is a very pricey option. I have a smart phone. The factory system has screen mirroring and Bluetooth. I see no justifiable reason what so ever I should upwards of $1000 for a Nav system when a phone offers the features for free. In the bigger more expensive C-RV Honda takes this into consideration and offers Nav as a stand alone option in the EX-L trim. I live a area that gets alot of snow, but I drive about 45,000mi/yr. I wanted just FWD because of the 3MPG better highway fuel economy. I have used dedicated winter tires on all of my vehicles for many years. So far, I have held off on my purchase of an H-RV, as I can purchase a FWD C-RV EX-L w/o Nav for only a couple thousand more with current local incentives and market pricing.
