  • causing me Whiplash - 2016 Honda HR-V
    By -

Purchased my car July 11th and loved it beause, who doesnt love a new car. At first I loved the ride it felt like a truck and I nicked named it my baby buggy. Cute right? Until I started experience whiplash syptoms. Im feeling every bump and spring and for weeks now I havent been able to move my neck or sleep comfortably. Im considering taking an MRI today so there documents to request a trade to a sad an. I wasnt in an accident and I am rather fit person. Walk, swim, and do yoga. This is outrageous.

  • Economy air and heating - 2016 Honda HR-V
    By -

My biggest problem with the HRV was the heating and cooling system. I drove for over an hour with the AC on max and it felt like I had a fan blowing in my face. It never got cool. If the temp is over 80 be ready to sweat. The dealership told me it was an economy car with an economy heating/cooling system. And they totally correct!! The heater would eventually heat up but the the air was never cool. I kept it on max at all times. Test it on a hot day, with the car sitting in the sun and you will have a good example of how poorly the system works. If you just need a car without air then its great, got great gas mileage. But I had to get rid of mine, burned up or froze 9 months out of the year

  • What a disappointment - 2016 Honda HR-V
    By -

12000 miles to date. After only buying Hondas for the past 20+ years (3 accords,2 crvs,1pilot,1fit and a S2000) I had to try the HRV. This is by far the worst honda I have owned. I am 510 and can not get the seat/steering wheel/ speedometer combination to work! Because of the short telescoping and high numbers placement the steering wheel blocks the top of the speedometer. The road noise is loud until you do a left hand corner above 30mph then it becomes a louder howl. The A/C can not keep up if you are driving towards the Sun, I have to turn the fan all the way up (cant hear road noise) and then cant hear radio or Bluetooth. The navigation system is difficult at best! Would not take my home address and after four people tried my son got it to take the non existing house next door. Searching for services is funny,I can see three gas stations but it insist the closest is five miles away! Its the same for all services. If I drop a signal while talking on Bluetooth the system seems to lock up and radio/phone will not work until I restart the car. I love my pilots power lift gate if there is a problem closing it lets me know right away. Not the Hrv it must be slammed and even then it waits until the car is in drive before it dings if there is a problem. My 2004 crv was a much better automobile than this 2016 hrv!! Comfort, visibility, layout were all so much more thought out . This is the first honda I cant wait to get rid of

  • Dont listen to the journalists - 2016 Honda HR-V
    By -

Most journalists commented on how the engine is rough and noisy. Drive a CX3 and you will discover just how refined Hondas R18 is in comparison. Also, the HRV is not "slow". It has plenty of real world acceleration and passing power even at highway speed. You have to keep in perspective the class of vehicle you are buying. It is not designed to be a sports car. I traded my 2014 Civic Si with 200+hp for the HRV and I find it very entertaining to drive when you call on it. The HRV handles great and feels "tossable". In comparison, the CX3 which is know for its steering, really is not all that much better. Hondas interior packaging is brilliant and the magic seats really set this vehicle apart from the competition. Interior cargo volume is enormous. Fit and finish is excellent inside and out and the doors have some heft that exudes a sense of solidity. Something the CX3 does not have. This is another winner for Honda as indicated by little inventory the dealers can keep on their lots. Most are pre-sold.

  • Snow Review - 2016 Honda HR-V
    By -

I waited until the first snow storm of the year to write this review, I already knew that I loved the car for different reasons, but I hadnt yet hit the snow. I live in OR where the highways are so poorly plowed or salted that it isnt even funny. Highways are usually just ice slicks with some volcanic ash on the curves. I had a pair of studless Toyo tires on there, which for you tire snobs I highly recommend and love. The cost of those tires was much more affordable than what I used to put on my 2007 CR-V. I found that the car did wonderfully in these conditions. I passed 7 rollovers and was still able to maintain control the entire way, the paddle shifters are great when going down hills and dont want to brake to lose steering. It was actually fairly fun drive, I wasnt white knuckling. I have a rule, if I dont feel safe in a car then it is not worth owning it anymore, I felt very safe and I would recommend to anyone that has nerves about adverse driving conditions. Even my mother-in-law calmed down after we made it home and is considering one of these cars in Minnesota.

  • I <3 my HR-V! - 2017 Honda HR-V
    By -

I test drove many different vehicles. Along with Hondas history of vehicle reliability, I picked the HR-V for the following reasons: Its a great looking vehicle with great mpg. (I am averaging 36 mpg on each tank of gas and I expect that to get better!) Its very reasonably priced for a vehicle that has heated seats, a backup camera, a right turn lane/signal camera, push start and a moon roof. The front seats sit a bit higher and are much easier to get in and out of as compared to the civic.

  • Best Sub-compact SUV in the City - 2016 Honda HR-V
    By -

Ive rode it for over a 1k miles and I can confirm its truly the best City SUV out there. Naturally, if you live in the country or Iowa you probably should look elsewhere. Pros: -Looks great -Small turning range -Honda Lane Change (Life Saver) -Honda Back-up camera (Life Saver) -Ample cargo space -Ample Front Row seating (Im a 5 11" big guy and Im very comfortable in the driver seat) -Bluetooth -Touchpad Climate Control (Some stupid old school Auto Critic argued they missed the knobs. The thing to remember is the old-school Critics are the Knobs. Apparently, they never used a Touchpad or Smart Phone.) -Great Gas mileage (35 mpg on the highway as promised) -Sunroof Cons: -Hondas Android apps are useless (Dont expect Honda to ever upgrade them to being useful.) -Garmins Navigation that Honda uses (Honda give it up and just install Android Auto in every Honda so we can all use Google Maps or Wave.) -This is nit-picky but the front windshield wipers are both on the drivers side. The Passenger wipers uses an exceptionally long arm to wipe the windshield. Which when its not running during a rainstorm and youre speeding down the highway it shakes. Annoying. -Windows could be a bit thicker to keep out the road noise.

  • So not worth it - 2016 Honda HR-V
    By -

I bought this car in oct/2015 and my ac has already stopped working. I took it in to pepboys to have the oil changed and have them look at the ac to see what was going on. they said there was nothing wrong and to go to Honda and have the warranty cover it. I took it in to Honda and they said a rock hit the air compressor and thats why it wasnt working. I went online to do some research and guess what I find..... the Honda cr-v has the same issue due to placement and Honda has yet to fix the issue or recall it. this repair will cost me 800$. I am beyond livid since i bought this car. i had a tow hitch installed they never screwed the tail lights back in i had to do it because of the rattle, they chipped the paint because they left the screws on the tailgate and closed it on the screws, the trunk will not always open when i try. and now the customer service it atrocious. i want everyone to know how bad Honda has treated me when they know they are in the wrong. ohhh and yes even better the compressor that they ordered to put in my car was defective so now i have to wait til at least tues to get the car back. and they cant get me a loaner car because they have a 65 person waiting list. this is the most absurd thing i have ever heard. never again will i buy a Honda.
