I currently own a 2015 CRV which I dislike more than any car I have ever owned. After 8 mons I have had more issues and simply tired of the service dept acting as though they see and feel nothing..I have been trying out other vehicles and this was one even though I have no intention of buying Honda again. This car is cute but the ride is so bad. I drove it while raining and it hydroplanes so bad at 40 mph..so does my CRV. I am female 120 lbs and this HRV is so tight feeling. My body is too close to the door, you have to work at it to get into the console, head rests make no sense, even getting in the way. I will never trust them again. They took my hard earned money for nice down payment, lied to my face day of purchase and then told me it was Hindas problem, not theirs. My neighbor bought the new Piot and has owned one for years but syas it has all changed..this new car is cheaper made and he is having huge issues..Dont hold out for them. They contcated me one time in all the mons I have owned crv and the conversation was scripted and cold. Im on a mission to find facts. Good Luck everyone.

  • Our newest "convertible" - 2016 Honda HR-V

I also own a 06 MINI convertible...this is kind of a convertible with its cargo/storage options. Its one of the main reasons we picked the HRV, we love the fold flat rear seats for our dogs. The ride is nice and tight but composed and not uncomfortable. I wish the passenger front seat had the option to raise or lower like the drivers seat but it is comfortable and I easily fit my 6 frame inside. I enjoy the all touch digital dashboard but then I love Star Trek and the futuristic look. I dont have any issue using the controls. Most of the radio and phone controls are also controlled on the steering wheel and if your the passenger you can mess around and have some fun with the touch screen. I didnt think the Navigation could be better than our Garmin but its way better. You can enter phone numbers for locations instead of addresses and heres the big one, you make a change to your route and the Nav doesnt bark back, "recalculating". The Nav just adopts to your new route without the annoying voice. Gas mileage is good with our mix of freeway and city, making 28 mpg right now, that is mainly using the eco mode. Speaking of, even on eco the acceleration is good, its not my supercharged MINI 6 speed fast but it is acceptable. I can pass on the freeway without annoyance. The mirrors and visibility are good and the right side camera helps a lot when switching lanes. I never used a paddle shifter before but had fun shifting up and down with the sport mode. I also found this useful going up longer hills on the freeway when maximizing my acceleration. Honda is known for their reliability and we are looking forward to 10 years with this vehicle. Time will tell but as we bought this car and the very end of winter in Wisconsin. This may be the 1st time Im looking forward to next years winter snow with the Honda HRV!

  • Too much hype - 2016 Honda HR-V

What was really disappointing for this vehicle was the mechanicals. Shifting, powering down and starting up is very rough.

Without expecting the world of features from one car, this vehicle does what its designed to do which is provide a great ride, lots of storage, great mpg and an awesome design all at a reasonable price.

  • Great Family Car for the price - 2016 Honda HR-V

I am very pleased with the Honda HR-V. My gf and I bought ours in June of 2015. were now in December and we have 13k miles. The Hrv is hers of course, but i wouldnt mind driving it everyday myself. The seats are more comfortable than the Mercedes Benz she had (a 2007 c230 Sport) even though we got the LX i am happy with the features that come with it. The Bluetooth works great, the microphone sounds ok on the other end. We dont have kids but it comes in handy when we need to bring our families around. I will say the back seat is a little too bumpy of a ride. it feels like the shocks are a little too stiff. But the front cabin is great. Cabin noise is very low and the stereo is good. This is the first car with CVT that weve experienced and it takes time to get used to. The shift points are unnoticeable and its noisy when you step on it for getting up on the highway. It is by no means a race car or fast. It shares the engine with a Civic non-SI so, maintenance will never be a problem since i used to own a 2008 civic with the same engine. My old civic had 113k miles and it had no problems and i had it slammed on the floor with no issues. Were averaging 30.0mpg and we have made a game with the color ring on the gauge cluster to see if we can keep the ring dark green. I like the fact that its smaller and more stylish on the exterior than the CRV and we dont regret buying an HRV, we just regret not waiting for an EX to become available. I would give this car a 5 star. Bigger than a fit smaller than a CRV with the engine of a Civic. Excellent value for the price

  • I HR-V! Do you? - 2016 Honda HR-V

It is a slow car with minimal pick-up. Gets you from point A to B, thats it. Blind spot camera is cool although I havent used it much. Small, Reliably, affordable, and a great first car. Also gets good fuel economy (about 30 mpg with the car in eco mode half the time) and only takes $20 to fill up the tank when almost empty (June 2017). Heated seats are nice when cold. Ample storage for gear and groceries. Only real complaint would be that there are no LED lights on the vehicle what so ever (I know Im picky). All in all great car, perfect for kids/young adults and easy to park.

  • Finally got my HR-V! - 2016 Honda HR-V

After wanting an HR-V since summer 2015 (when my CRV reached 170,000 miles), they are finally a bit easier to find. I purchased an LX, which I absolutely LOVE. Compared to the other small crossover/suvs in its class, it sits higher, which is a must after driving an suv for over ten years. It also handles well, (though the ride is a bit rigid), is more spacious inside, and has intuitive controls and technology. It is my 5th Honda, and they have all been super reliable, and long lasting, with great re-sale value. After owning my HRV for 5 months, I am still pleased with it overall, but wish I had gotten leather interior instead of cloth. The cloth on the seats, headrests, and doors is not very high quality, and acts almost like a dirt magnet. It has also developed a loud squeaking/rubbing sound in the cab which I am having looked at by the dealer soon. I also wish the headlights were brighter, and the heating/AC system was stronger and more quickly responsive. I can definitely see/feel the difference in quality from my 2005 CRV EX, but still believe it is a good little car for the money. I have now owned my HRV for 18 months. I said it all in my 5 month review, though now I wished I had gotten heated seats and side mirror defrosters as well since the heater is not super strong and takes awhile to warm me and the car up. I assume because of the smallish engine. The squeaking/rubbing sound has resolved itself (?) so thats nice. I would buy this car again, it suits my budget and needs well. And, sits higher with better visibility than the Mazda 3 or other crossovers in its class.
