Never thought I would consider a brand new car... - 2016 Honda HR-V
By dj - April 3 - 4:10 amLet me start by saying I thought I would never ever own a brand new car. Not because I cant afford it, I just didnt see the value...until Honda released this wonderful gem. I thought it was time for an automatic, and like a few others I was drawn to the design, cargo space and ride of the Mazda CX-5. But I wasnt sure I needed slightly extra height/width and engine power, and I also owned a civic for years so I was drawn to Hondas reliability and headache free maintenance. I do try to hypermile when I can, so when I saw the HRV had a manual it became a reasonable contender. I test drove it, and it shifted like warm butter (thats a good thing). So I started analyzing all other differences between these cars and I decided the Honda had nothing more and nothing less than exactly what I need in an SUV. Both my cars now fit in the garage nicely with plenty of room and I will never have to worry about finding a big enough parking spot. On top of all that the MPG could almost be overlooked, but is definitely a nice bonus that reminds me I made a good choice. If youre coming from a higher/wider vehicle into the HRV you will probably feel cramped at first, but strangely with the cargo versatility (Seats that fold completely flat and magic seats) it feels like the same size as a larger size SUV. Comfort for me was fine, Im not doing cross country trips and if I did it would be in a rental. My wife and I tested that we can both lay down in the back comfortably (59" and shorter), which will come in handy... were taking it to the drive-in this weekend :) Theres not much I dont like, but Ill reserve judgment on the thin cloth on the door uppers. I am concerned about its durability, as I like to put my elbow there when I drive. Other than that, I really wish the call button on the steering wheel triggered Siri like the EX model, but the LX model had almost everything I needed so couldnt justify the upgrade.

Recommended Honda HRV - 2016 Honda HR-V
By Jim - February 3 - 11:24 pmThe only real issue I have had is the center console lid spring broke twice and Fischer Honda ordered an entire assembly replacement and so far so good. Other than that, the HRV rides great; handles good and has been reliable with no real issues. I have a little over 18000 miles on the car and it still running fine for me. I would definitely remcommend Honda weather built in Mexico or Japan or even the U.S.

Smooth roomy ride - 2016 Honda HR-V
By Lorraine Wilson - February 2 - 7:01 pmI read the reviews before buying. Seems like the main negative comment was acceleration. I dont have any issues with that. I love the heated seats. Its comfy, great on gas and looks nice. My negative comment is not enough storage compartments in the front.

Better than Mercedes GLA - 2016 Honda HR-V
By Dick Head - January 27 - 9:13 amI think we should all buy this car. I was going to buy Mercedes GLA but Honda... is going to save me $10,000. As always reliable and good resale value. There is no downside. Alternatives? None.

HR-V needs to grow - 2016 Honda HR-V
By David Shields - January 23 - 12:58 pmIf youre more than average-size this vehicle is not for you. I did enjoy every aspect of the the car as far as performance, look and technology. The space for even the driver is on the smaller side and my wife who has long legs felt that her knees were practically in her face. love it but needs more room. (Felt the same about the CR-V, also.

2016 Honda HR-V - 2016 Honda HR-V
By HRV fan - January 4 - 4:02 pmI was hesitant to purchase the 2016 so close to the release of the 2017 model for fear that I would miss out on options or technology that might be made available. Im glad I didnt wait! I got an amazing price and the 2017 model has no changes!

Great Car - 2016 Honda HR-V
By Ryan D - December 25 - 11:08 pmPros: Gas mileage. I get 27 in town and up to 36 on the highway in the AWD EX Space/cargo area (my brother and my self are just over 6 feet tall and plenty of room for legs and head in rear) Good visibility Engine very quiet. ***A lot of people are saying that this engine has no power. Coming from driving many v8s over the years and still have a v8 camaro, this engine does just fine with power. If your expecting a rocket ship however, this car is not for you. Cons : USB Port and rear drivers seat rattle. Going over bumps the rear drivers seat rattles, might be from the flexibility of the seat. Will have it checked at dealership sometime soon. No automatic hatch lift. Back up camera is not really to scale and easy to back into something. Better off using the old fashioned way of turning around to check your surroundings I would recommend to a friend though..good overall car for what you pay

Fell in Love, Still in Love! - 2016 Honda HR-V
By Brandy Mull - November 7 - 7:07 pmWhen Honda came out with the new HR-V I fell in love. And I am not a Honda fan. Im a loyal Toyota girl. I had a RAV4, but just felt "blah" about it. I love the gas miliage on my honda, Im averaging 28 mpg & less than $20 to fill her up. Her engine is not quiet by any means & the ride is not smooth. I reminds of you of driving a small truck, but FUN to drive! Im 50 ft tall and I feel like this car is the SUV for us short gals! Easy to get in & out of , my 5 yr old has trouble reaching the door handle, but climbing in & out is getting easier for her. I do want to say this, in regards to safety. I had a car literally slam on their brakes in front of me a few days ago & got to use the anti-lock brakes for the first time! And all I can say is WOW!!! The stop was immediate, we all slung forward but we had our seatbelts on so all was well. I was VERY impressed by the braking system in an emergency, esp since I had my 3 kids in the car! The back seat is not comfortable with the head rests, so my kids removed the backseat headrests the day we bought it. Other than that, I give my car 5 stars! I will say the Bluetooth in my Toyotas worked ALOT better....but I still wouldnt trade my HR-V for a RAV! And it wont let me change it, but my HRV is EX model. Ive had my car almost a year now & still love it. I literally get compliments daily on my car from folks I dont know, that says a lot about this car.

My little HR Vie - 2016 Honda HR-V
By lmara - August 23 - 5:51 amNice small crossover for its class with plenty of trunk space. Biggest downer on this vehicle is the trunk door. It is heavy and someone who is short like myself has a hard time closing it. Need two hands to close the door shut which is difficult if you have other things you are carrying. The car needs a power lift gate and should have been included in the EX-L trim.
