  • The Fit Just Keeps Getting Better - 2016 Honda Fit
    By -

This 2016 Fit is the third Fit our family has purchased. It has improved in almost every way. Better power, better fuel economy, better interior design. The only glaring flaw is the low rent front seats, at least on our cloth model. The seats in our 2009 Fit were much more supportive and comfortable than these new ones. They are flat, yet somehow feel uneven to sit on and offer minimal support.

This car is new to me. So far, all is well. I have no complaints.

  • Seats do not "Fit" - they cause back pain! - 2016 Honda Fit
    By -

Bad seats - too soft, flat backs without any lumbar support. The seats are like sitting on a memory foam marshmallow without support. The side bolsters are squishy and do not provide support. Be very, very certain that your back is comfortable in the seats of this car before you buy or lease! I would suggest a 30-60 minute test drive to be certain. I am not tall - I am only 5’4” and 130 pounds, but these seats are not capable of providing support to my small body. I took three test drives of the 2016 Honda Fit. Each was the typical 10-15 minute test drive. I thought I liked the car - it seemed comfortable and like a peppy little fuel efficient car. Except that it is noisy - but I thought I could live with the noise. One test drive was one day, the other two test drives were about a month later on the day I leased the car. Then the worst thing possible happened. The next day after signing my lease papers my back started to hurt. The following day it hurt even more. I only have a 20-minute driving commute, but that is enough for the soft, squishy Honda Fit seats to do their damage. I tried various aftermarket lumbar cushions without success. They either did not work or pushed me too far forward over the edge of the seat. So I could not use any of them. Honda’s customer service department was unwilling to help - since it is not something under warranty. It is just a design defect. An acceptable design flaw. One that your back will suffer with as long as you own the car! My only solution - my wonderful wife is able to drive the car without back pain. So we have swapped cars, and now we are both unhappy with that situation but at least neither of us has back pain. This is our fourth and final Honda. When this lease ends, no more Hondas for us! Just say “NO” to Honda. Friends don’t let friends drive a Honda Fit.

  • My new "Yellow Tweedy Bird" - 2016 Honda Fit

I love Honda and I love Honda Fits. I had a sport model for 8 years. Did like it better as it had fun wheel rims and much more speed. For some reason they discontinued this model. The new one is fine , but it doesnt get the gas mileage that it said on the sticker. I dont think its broken in enough yet however; so I am reserving judgement on that right now. Seems to be a lot roomer than the old one. Miss the boxes in the wall in the trunk area from the old one. The other thing is the "junk" box between the 2 front seats is very awkward to get into. The top raises from the front and you cant see inside. I think it should have opened on the side. Also very small, like it was an after thought. The seat fold down in the back is much easier than the old one as you dont have to remove the headrests to put them down. I also like the cup holder on the dash by the steering wheel! Very convenient to grab a drink without looking down! I do wish that the windows would come tinted as some of my friends new cars did. Has lots of plugs for the tech stuff. Even one in the "junk" box. It does have a lot of road noise. I have read that you can have soundproofing put in. I may have to look into that. Otherwise, so far its another great purchase.

  • excellent design - 2016 Honda Fit

Im 75" tall and it is relatively easy to get in and out and reasonably comfortable to drive considering it is an economy car. The "magic" rear seats are brilliant. I have dogs (Australian Shepherds) and they ride conveniently in the back with the seats folded down. With the seats up there is a nice space for grocery bags, and the seats are easy to manipulate into position.

  • 2016 Honda Fit - a review from a single female. - 2016 Honda Fit

Before purchasing this vehicle I had a Honda Fit Sport I purchased new in 2010. I was in an accident where someone rear ended me going about 30 mph. The entire left side curtain airbag deployed. I was the driver and the only person in the car at the time of the accident. This accident totaled the car. I was so highly impressed how safe such a small car really was in an accident at that impact was, I was determined to replace it with a new Honda Fit. The Honda fit that was in the accident was silver, so I wanted something different. I really wanted a Modern Steel Metallic. None were available in a 200 mile radius of my area I was told. I had to drive an hour away from my home to get a Aegean Blue Metallic. White and silver seemed the only colors local available. I was surprised at the features you get with the car for the price. The Multi-Angle Rearview Camera with Guidelines, Right side cam for merging, Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® and Streaming Audio, Multi-Reflector Halogen Headlights with Auto-On/Off. None of those came with the 2010 Honda Fit sport I had prior. Im one person, no kids. I dont need a big vehicle, so that considered this was great for me considering the price. I didnt purchase a luxury vehicle so I like to show people the new features it came with for just an average car. Ive only owned it a month, so I cant say much past how it compares to the 2010 I had. But Im happy with the purchase and got more than what I expected.

  • Wow. Just wow. - 2016 Honda Fit

This is the perfect first car, or any other car. Its a family car, a cargo hauler, a workhorse, you name it. After a year of trying to find a subcompact car that I actually fit in, I was able to put all 63" of myself in the drivers seat, passenger seat, and back seats. Of course, the seat was as far back as it would go, and my right knee rests on the shift knob, but I cannot complain with the overall dimensions of the drivers seat. I run a small yard maintenance business, and I can fit my Honda mower, and my STIHL Blower and Weed Whacker all behind the front seats. I have taken three Cellos, a Double Bass, two amps, eighteen music stands and two drums AT ONCE. Needless to say, the cargo space rivals a minivans. I have tried and tried, but I cannot get this car to dip below 35 MPGs. It costs me an average of $16 dollars to fuel up in the Seattle WA area. The car I drove before this was a 1974 Porsche 914. That car is famous for sticking to the road like glue. This Honda doesnt come close to beating that ride quality, but for its height and cargo space, Ill let it slide. This car has a personality unlike any other car. It knows when youre trying to wind it up and get moving quickly, and in that case, the CVT will fight and try to buck you off the gas. Flooring the pedal makes the revs climb up to 5,000 or 5,500 before you even get above 15 MPH, and the sound is like a paper shredder that hasnt ever been oiled. But once you get moving between 25-60 mph, youll feel the 130 horsepower start to get along with the engine. Of course, anything above 65 mph has its downsides and I would not recommend going over 85. The wind will start to really affect your control over the car. But Honda, unlike many other car companies, has a feeling of quality that is simply unmatched. I can tell Ill get a good 150,000 miles out of it before having to get anything repaired, something that you wont feel in most of the American cars. Youll be rewarded with more than just outstanding fuel economy with this Fit. Buy Honda, and you cant go wrong.

  • Goid car but a few negatives - 2016 Honda Fit
    By -

I have had my 2016 Honda Fit for about a month now. A few negatives: Excessive wind noise from front windshield when going over 45 mph...Passenger front window is very slow going up and down at times...the Ac vent air blows hard when decelerating and blows less hard when accelerating. ..and last, the engine pings loud at idle. I have addressed these issues with the dealership to see if these are common for the fit and I have yet to hear back from them. Its been 4 days. The fit is peppy enough and has plenty of room for my large dogs. I dont like the fact that these only come with black interior. .Dog hair and dirt really show up. Also, they dont come with floor mats. How stupid is that? Rubber mats from Honda are 170 bucks. Carpeted floor mats are over 300 bucks. Gas mileage is Good but gas tank is too small. Fuel like comes on at about 8 gallons. Too small. Also, no wheels...it has hub caps! Gross!! As soon as I can save some money i am going to get some wheels. I tinted the windows that made it look a little better. To me, this looks just like a small van. Thats about it. Hope this helps in making your decision whether to buy one or not.

Get the EX for all the options that come with it. The only caveat is the lack of an aux input Jack on this model.
