  • Follow up review - 2009 Honda Fit

Now that Ive had my Fit for a while, I have one follow-up note for you all. I still love my Fit -- its fun to drive, fuel efficient, safe and reliable, and it looks cool. But there is one issue that you need to know about. The front end is very low, and you may end up scratching it on driveways. I already have twice. The scratches are not noticeable since they are underneath the front end, but if you are fastidious about your vehicles condition, it may bother you. You have to almost stop at speed bumps and steep driveways to avoid scraping paint off the bottom of the front bumper. If it were an inch higher, this wouldnt be an issue. Nevertheless, I still recommend the new Fit.

  • Outstanding fuel economy - 2009 Honda Fit

Loved this car so much. Outstanding fuel economy: Mix driving 42 mpg (with fastest speed up to 75mph and slowest is 40mph)- City driving is from 35 to 37 mpg. My new Fit has less than 300 miles on it. Too sure it will get up to between 47 and 50 mpg (mix driving) easily when engine breaks in. Great visibility. Looks great both in and out. Beautiful interior. Spacious. Magic seats. Great handling. Fun to drive. Exceeded EPA rating (27/33/30)---> NEW EPA RATING SHOULD BE: 35/45/42.

Have owned multiple Hondas. Never met one I didnt like. Easier to get in and out than my (wifes) 2006 civic coupe.

  • What a Blast! - 2009 Honda Fit

This is the first vehicle Ive owned in 30+ years that makes me want to drive. Its no sports car but its still a hoot! On decent roads the engine smoothly hums along and the car is quieter than my 2000 Accord. The noise level does pick up when the engine is pushed but it seems willing enough and the transmission shifts with precision. It rides very nicely on good roads but things get somewhat choppy on rougher surfaces. However, the car remains very composed on all surfaces and is very easy to handle. Gas mileage in lows 30s around town and low 40s on highway. A lot of thought went into this design!

I bought a 2009 Fit Sports MT 2 weeks ago. It has good handling. The MPG is excellent (37 MPG 1st tank tripmeter / fill up calculation). The build quality is good. And I love the USB connectivity with iPod. The best of all, I can fit my bike (with front wheel off) standing up with the back seat folded. A lot of my friends are amazed by its functionality. The speakers are kind of weak and eventually I will replace them. To sum it all up, I am a happy Fit owner.

  • Happy with my Fit - 2009 Honda Fit

This is a great car for the size and price. It does not feel like you are in a small car while driving it. There is ample space in the front seat area. We are tall and have no problem. I love the mpg monitor even though it does run 2-3 mpg higher than calculated mpg. Most of my driving is stop and go and mpg have been ~29. USB input is great. The controls on the dash are large and easy to operate, very user friendly. The car heats up quickly in the cold. I did add the arm rest center console and it is nice. The engine does get loud when I hit the gas too hard. Overall this car is fun to drive and I am so happy I have it.

  • Good little car, but miss my SUV - 2009 Honda Fit
    By -

The Fit is definitely a good car, but I am suffering a serious case of buyers remorse. I had an SUV before getting the Fit. Do your homework for sure. I did not get a good deal on it, which is part of my regrets. I think you can get a lot more car for the same price if you went with a Mazda 3 for example. I really wish I would have gotten that instead. Gas mileage is good, but the on-board gauge is off. When it says Im getting 37 mpg, it really is around 32. Still good, but instrument is unreliable. You have to pay extra for many features that are standard for other models. Insurance higher than on previous SUV. Check w/ your agent first.

  • Honda is FIT 4 ME! - 2009 Honda Fit

Love the car. Reviewed and tested the Chevrolet HHR, Scion xD & xB, Mazda3, and Nissan Versa. I went to three Honda facilities until I could stand the salesman! Good pickup, and ride. Arm rest for the passenger would be nice! Wish I could have the stability control without having to buy the navigation unit. Getting between 35-37 mpg after 1100 miles of driving in the first two weeks of ownership. Would highly recommend this car to anyone wanting a little fun and saving some $$ on gasoline!

  • 1st New Car, and Im LOVIN IT!!!! - 2009 Honda Fit

My old SL Saturn has been showing signs of dying for years, so I hit the internet looking for a new replacement. I stumbled upon the Fit completely by accident, but fell in love with it after reading several reviews and the specs on it. As of Jan. 27, Ive been having a blast with my new Blackberry Sport and it just seems to be getting better! Driving to work is fun again, fuel economy is fantastic, and with all I can do with the back seat/cargo area, Im set for just about anything! I will admit the price was a bit much, but just over 5k after, this was the BEST investment I could have made! To quote the commercial, "The Fit Is GO!!!!"

  • On a smaller side of things - 2009 Honda Fit

I ordered this car in light blue color as my wife wanted and in about 2 months we got call to get it. As we looked for her new car and decided to go with subcompact for her relatively long daily commute our options were Nissan Versa or Sentra, Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit. We test drove all of them and overall impression was that Fit was better. It came with the higher price but we went for it anyway, never were sorry. Plenty of space (drove a really tall friend with his bike inside), baby in car seat has all the view, nice touch and feel. We did go to dealership recently to fix loose panel under dashboard to stop the rattle. Seems fuel gauge is not accurate.
