Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

We bought this vehicle because my son had liked it. Now that we own it, we love it! We havent had it long enough to determine service and reliability but we love it after driving it.

The Honda Element is definitely a head- turner. 18,000 miles so far - only problem a defective/cracked windshield. Otherwise its been a great car. A little noisy but nothing terrible. Great for long trips, camping, shopping, etc. Gas milage is 19 mpg at best. Over-all very satisfied.

  • Hard to believe this cost me 20 Gs - 2003 Honda Element

The honda element really surprised me, I go up to the mountain feeling safe because of its awesome handling. The power is right on the mark, the should increase it by a little. Over all, This is like a dream car. For 20 grand, you wont beleive how much of an off-road and everywhere car the element is. I give Honda my best regards.

  • Fun little truck - 2004 Honda Element

Im a cheap-skate. I wanted a small, thrifty truck, but it seems nobody makes em anymore...so I went with Hondas Element. This thing is a hoot to drive. Im no racer, so maybe I dont expect too much but I find this little box hustles. Id have been happy with less given ever-rising gas prices, I want even more than the about 29 mpg its averaged over the first 15,000 miles. I leave my back seats in the garage, and treat it as a 2-seater. No, you cant hose it out, but otherwise it is extremely durable and versatile for light hauling, camping or grocery-getting.

well for the most part I love my element, but I think there was some faulty wires in my car becasue the battery went dead after a week of not starting it, and the cd player they put in my car doesnt play cdrs but other than those problems which Im gonna get fixed the car is great

  • Great to be in my Element - 2003 Honda Element

Even though this car is promoted for the young, it is very convenience for all ages. I have arthitis and found it difficult to enter a standard SUV but the design of the Element makes entering the car easy. Driving is fun again!

  • Tailgated - 2003 Honda Element

Like the car, you have to get over the boxiness, then it is all gravy. Awesome room inside, tall guys fit well, I am 63" and have a TON of room in the drivers seat and am comfortable in the back. Not tons of power, but with a manual it is more fun. Fuel economy around town has been 20+ which is not bad. IF you order the rear spoiler, it DOES NOT match the color of the vehicle. This is NOT indicated in the picture and is quite decieving. Honda will not pay for it to be painted. Taking out the rear seats is not really easy, but putting them up to the side is a snap. 2 mtn bikes (sans front wheel) fit in the back with seats up.

  • From Jeep to Honda.... - 2003 Honda Element
    By -

First time Honda owner. I really enjoy the fun-to-drive, eye turning quality. Not as dependable as my Jeep in terms of comfort and pick-up. MPG performs poorly when the car is fully loaded (only got 250 miles on one tank with full car, 3 people, and luggage on roof). Otherwise, a fun ride. Great for soccer moms or people with pets. Ideal for local travel and short trips to the hardware store.
