Overview & Reviews
Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.
A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

Atlanta Driving - 2004 Honda Element
By Benjiz - December 3 - 8:49 pmThis is the most utilitiarian vehicle I have owned. Much more interior space than my other Jeep Cherokee. I have moved everything from big TVs to a pullout sleeper sofa in it. It has adequate power and mileage. I do mostly highway driving. Avg HWY MPG 25. Love the vehicle, could use minor improvements then PERFECT..

Japanese Hummer - 2005 Honda Element
By Richard W - December 3 - 4:26 amThis must have been one of the Ugliest truck when it first came out. However, for some reason, it was also the reason that I purchased it, its ugliness caught my attention. Best choice that i ever made, I must have went through 40 cars already and I love the element based on price, value, and reliability. I cant believe how useful this truck is hauling the weirdest stuff around. There are many things that i like about this truck and things that i think Honda can improve on. Things that I like about this truck is it hauls alot I mean alot of stuff. Its cheap from the dealer, its awd, good in the snow and comes pretty loaded for around $20k. cant complain at all!

honda element 2004 - 2004 Honda Element
By Pat Ogden - December 1 - 9:55 pmI love the versatility of the seat configuration. Especially like the washable floor, which is why I bought it. Hate the center console-it just doesnt work. I expected better gas mileage than it gets.

By Davea - November 28 - 10:00 amSolid car top to bottom. This vehicle does NOT leave friends and onlookers on the fence, they either LOVE the look or hate it.

Not Just for Young Folks! - 2003 Honda Element
By dahunt - November 24 - 2:00 amSuperior handling and roominess. I am a tall person who wanted an economical SUV. Love the looks, love the performance, but hope the gas mileage meets the window estimates. Covenient design and follows impeccable manufacturing standards Honda is notorious for.

Big Box of Fun! - 2003 Honda Element
By InMyElement - November 24 - 2:00 amA great utilitarian design - functional and fun! The suicide doors take some getting used to, the drivers armrest could be improved and the gas mileage isnt what Im used to getting from a Honda, but I love this vehicle!

Justgot1 - 2003 Honda Element
By justgot1 - November 24 - 2:00 amJust got the Element 4WD EX I love it but my only concern is the gas milege and the way you have to open the front door before you can open the side doors. Plenty of room defintley a conversation piece.

In My Element, too - 2003 Honda Element
By micmoren - November 24 - 2:00 amJust bought my Element on 2-7-03. Was at the dealer on 2-6-03 for routine maintenance on my civic. Saw the Element, my kids saw it and loved the suicide doors and reclining seats. Drove it the next day, was hooked. It is peppier than my civic, as easy to throw into curves, and tons roomier. Gas mileage not as good as civic but I can live with 23mpg (what I am averaging). This mini-cooper/Hummer is not just for X-games dudes. Honda should also market to parents like me who have active kids and need a kid- proof interior. My dealer was great to deal with as well.

Lovin my Element - 2005 Honda Element
By gary - November 17 - 9:07 amThis is the most practical vehicle Ive ever owned. Its a hoot to drive and its as rugged as it is dependable. Sometimes aerodynamics are overated. This little "box" gets 25+ MPG and keeps up with most vehicles on the Interstate. However, it could use a couple more inches of ground clearance.
