Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

I think the element just looks really good. I wanted a hummer but couldnt afford it, but I guess the baby hummer will do for now. Nice car, lots of fun.

If you are looking for a cool ride with a "fun to drive attitude" you have choosen the correct ride. Lots of interior room. Rear sets can fold up and out of the way or can be removed or out into a bed if needed for those camping nights. Front seats are comfy fully adjustable ride height. Easy to operate right off the lot. Nice large wndshield area . Comfy sport ute to play with . Awd model is what I have . I will say this one thing it takes only 1/2 second for the rear wheels to kick in when need it. Last thing FUN TO DRIVE

  • Ugly... but Fun, Reliable, and Handy - 2005 Honda Element

Sure its ugly, but I got used to the odd shape, and Im even starting to think its pretty cool looking. I am in a band and I originally wanted a car that I could easy stow my gear in. I looked at all the options, but I was intrigued by the Element. I wasnt impressed by the engine, but soon found that it was definitely enough power for day to day driving, as well as hauling some loads. The stain resistant and water resistant interior is a HUGE plus, and has saved me on more than one occasion. I have seen complaints over the clamshell doors, but who can really complain about getting in? Once youre in the rear seating is great with, dare i say, FUN theatre seating and plenty of room. A+ Car!

  • Fun to drive and you will love it. - 2005 Honda Element

Almost 2K miles on our 05 Elle EX auto tranny and gets 20 mpg in town and 24 on the road. Gas mileage could be better, but hey, it has the aero-dynamics of a brick pushing air but the most fun vehicles this senior citizen has ever owned, and Im hard to impress. If you have bad knees, back or hip it is soooo easy to get in and out and tall folks will have six inches of head room and all the leg room you ever need and you will not feel cramped in an Elle. Too many features to put here so go to your Honda dealer and let them demo and you will be very impressed at how many features for such a low price. Hondas hold their value.

  • A big little car - 2003 Honda Element

Cute and ugly? Functional and ugly? Whatever it is it gets attention and questions. I love the car. Performance is more than adequate and while gas mileage could be better I like 22/24 mpg. Visibility to the extreme. Versatility with individuality.

I love this car. Before purchase I check out many more expensive cars and bought ELEMENT. Its the best for the money. Its engine is pretty peppy, ride is very comfortable and smooth. Overall, this car exceeds my expectations. Honest!

  • Larger than it looks - 2005 Honda Element

Weve owned our Element for about a month. It is very roomy with plenty of headroom for my tall husband. Plenty of places to put things. My son loves the stadium seating in the back--now he can see out of the windows. Surprised at the good turning circle. Didnt realize how much fun XM radio could be. Looking forward to seeing how the uncarpeted flooring works during the winter.

  • A Fabulous "F"-Rating All Around! - 2005 Honda Element

This past summer I decided to buy myself what I referred to as "the last vehicle Ill ever buy." So I bought the 05 EX AWD 4dr (4cyl-4A) Element, moved everything into storage, loaded up the luggage, two cats, and just "took off" driving around the country for several months. In less than 4 months I have driven almost 19,000 miles at all speeds (yes, over 100mph up a steep grade, without incident or issue!), and in most all road (and some off-road), traffic, and weather conditions it excels in handling, power (thats one gutsy 4- cyl, V-tech engine!), comfort and fuel- efficiency, let alone functionality and just plain fun! It also makes a great pet and people transport vehicle. I love it!

  • Very Practical Car - 2003 Honda Element

I love my Element as it is the most versatile, practical vehicle I have ever owned. I can move the seats around and haul most anything. It is easy to clean since it has no carpeting. The all wheel drive has been most useful this year since we have had more snow and ice than usual. It gets great mileage for an SUV (about 22 mpg around town and 25 on the interstate) and I feel very safe in it. I will buy another Element, but next time I will get the side air bags.

Only maintenance service required, no problems, comfortable, love the raised back seats so my grandchildren can see out the front window, love the way the seats store when I have to pick up large things or loads, love the way the car handles both around town and on the highway. I have had people stop me in parking lots and ask to see the inside and I think I have help the dealer sell a bunch. There are more on the road around here every day. Just saw a new one in the driveway of one of my neighbors. We just check the totally around town stop and go mileage and it was about 23 mpg. Functional, comfortable, sensible, easy to keep clean, my husband, who called it ugly drives it a lot.
