Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

When driving this vehicle, you get a sense of driving a much larger vehicle. There is a lot of room inside and ample headroom for taller passengers. I love the sound when you close the doors. Sounds solid. Handles extremely well. Great turning radius. Could use more power but all the positives outweigh the minuses.

I bet a lot of families like ours are choosing the Element due to the design features that are a perfect fit for the average family on the go. With the Element you do not worry about spills in the car, wet bottoms from the pool or sand from the beach, everything will wipe clean with the urethane coated floor and the waterproof fabric seats. Spacious, comfortable and versatile seating makes the Element perfect for long drives. And did I mention how much stuff it will hold. In one trip, you can start your shopping at the mall, visit the home and garden center, go clubbing a Sam’s and still have plenty of extra room for more stuff.

Absolutely practible. If you like to be different, this is the affordable choice for you. Plenty of room for four people. Single guy can use the space in back to haul all the things you wanted to, but couldnt in that coupe type car.

This is the 3rd Honda we owned, but we have big reservations about this one. The fit and finish is not so Honda- like. Many of dashboard panels rattle after the first year-maybe caused by the Honda installed alarm system? The plastic cover over the rear seat hinges keeps on coming lose. The worst of all, is the wind-shield. It cracked twice without any reason. The first time while I was driving it. Sounded like a stone landed on it when there were no car of truck in front of me. The dealer insisted that it was caused by a rock, and not a defect! But then it happend again 3 months later. Now I drive around with a cracked windshield that I wouldnt fix, and I am telling everybody about it.

After doing a lot of research, reading review after review, I decided to purchase my EX AWD. The Element is everything I expected and more! Road noise isnt bad as people make it out to be, and it has plenty of power to get up and go! Handling is exellent for everyday driving. I have owned it for a week now and I have zero complaints. The Element is very spacious, my 64 friend fit very confortable in the back seat. The stereo is way above average and sounds crystal clear. Try finding a 2005 EX AWD leftover at a dealership, you might get a great deal like I did, paying $19,000 with only 32 miles on it... yes just 32.

I am 52 years old, have a dog and a 6 year old daughter. I am an airline pilot by trade and I love my Element. It is very versatile and a joy to drive. Plenty of power and good economy. The only not so good is the comfort of the front seats. They are a bit hard. I did buy and install the upgrade armrest/console for the drivers seat. There should also be an arnrest available for the front right seat also. Overall, I am very satisfied with my Element

The only thing that has gone wrong is that several times Ive turned the a/c on and it didnt come on. I had to turn it on and off several time and let it stay off for a minute or so and then it came on. I think that there is some small problem in the vaccum line. I must take it to the dealership for them to look at this.

I enjoy the interior versitility. I have gone camping, biking, hiking, taking the dogs for long drives, and moving hay in the back of my Element. I have also moved my youngest child into her college dorm. I also enjoy knowing that the floor and seats can be wiped clean. The cost was reasonable, so I can make the payment, save for retirement and pay college tuition.

This is just a fantastic & fun vehicle to drive and own. It is smooth and peppy on the Interstate. It is quiet and comfortable in the city. The washable interior and the fold up seats make it a natural to haul feed or seed or lumber for my farm. It is large enough with the rear seats folded up to carry many appliances and furniture. It is shorter than my wifes Ford Focus but the ride and interior space seems almost to be that of a luxury SUV. We have more than 50,000 miles on it in about eight months so I have the length of usage to speak confidently of its abilities. Oh yes, its audio system is great also.
