Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

  • What a cool car! - 2004 Honda Element

We bought this vehicle slightly used as a third car and a future vehicle for our fifteen-year old boy. We LOVE it! My husband and I fight over who gets to drive it. It is a very FUN, functional, spacious car. We feel very modern driving it. Lots of car for the money. Buy one!!! Totally underrated by the professional reviewers.

I like my Element, it is the most useful vehicle I have ever owned. People tell me they dont like the look...I say drive it and you will be a convert too.

  • The Happy Car - 2005 Honda Element

Our Element has been a joy to drive and own. We call it our "happy car". We took out the back seats and use the rear area for dogs and luggage. The XM sattelite radio and a great standard sound system is a big plus. We have the roof-top luggage carrier which works very well quiet and relatively eassy to get on and off. Great car overall. Little on the outside and big on the inside.

When I was looking for a vehicle in the $20k range, the Element met more criteria than any other vehicle. Friends of mine have doubted my purchase because of its appearance. After riding in it with me, there opinions change. In fact, less than than a month after my purchase, a friend bought the same thing while another is thinking about it.

  • Element of Design - 2004 Honda Element

Im a first time Honda owner. I loved everything about the Element. Its fun to drive and the handle is awesome. It couldve been made more sound-proof. I travel and the highway noise gets extremely loud. I would love to see family features, like Tv/Dvd players, and more cushioned seats.

  • Great Car - Few Problems - 2005 Honda Element
    By -

Love the car, but miss a front seat sun roof. Only other problem is the lack of protecton for the radiator. Had to go out and purchase Gutter Guard to attach in front to protect radiator from rocks and such. Also, daytime running lights should have been standard. If gas mileage were as advertised, I would recommend the Element to everyone; however, the mileage sticker borders on fraudulent.

  • Drive one first - 2005 Honda Element

I enjoy this trucklet. I had to replace the driver armrest with a larger one offered by Honda. I am a big guy and love the room. The big point for me was that I was able to get a manual tranmission. The AWD is the best. Room behind the back seats for the dog. Love XM radio. And super easy to clean and keep clean. I put a new chrome grill on it and that helped the ugly of the snout. All this and a place to sit when we tail gate. " a real tail gate" Check out this special SUV.

We have been 100% satisfied with our Element and are thinking of buying a second one when our other car dies. The Element is practical, well made, reliable and fun to drive.

  • Most Cool Weird Car Ever - 2003 Honda Element
    By -

This car is cool. The doors are cool. The power is cool. The CD system is cool. I like this car alot. (can u tell) Honda has done it again by creating a reliable car that is functional, safe, and up to date. The looks of this car start outside and go in. The sterring wheel has a great design (same wheel as in pilot) and the metal accents add a modern twist. The perfect car if you have a small child.

  • So far so good - 2003 Honda Element
    By -

I got the car after months of research and I am confident that I made a good choice. The engine is capable and the ride is smooth. The interior has a nice look and the rear seats are comfortable enough. The height adjustment for the driver seat is a bit of a pain and does not go up high enough and the steering wheel tilt stops short of where I would like it. The cargo area is deceptively large as is the area used to get into the rear seats. Overall it is a car that allows someone to do with as they please, which is what I was looking for.
