Overview & Reviews
Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.
A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

I love me "Ellie" - 2004 Honda Element
By jdowd1 - April 16 - 10:00 amI love my element from the terrific stereo to the ultra-cool A/C I could not ask for more. It has all the power I need ,but is not too hard on the petrol. The interior is stylish yet spartan at the same time. The exterior styling is all German WWII military vehicle. I love my "Ellie"

Love it with two small exceptions - 2006 Honda Element
By Charlie - April 15 - 11:04 pmThe Element is perfect for my lifestyle. I race bicycles and camp quite a bit. Throwing the bike in the back without taking it apart is great, sleeping in the Element at the race site or anywhere is a nice option. Lots of room to change clothes, eat lunch or whatever else. You wont believe how much stuff you can fit in the back (I recently moved). Super easy to clean. Drives just fine yet you certainly know when there is a cross wind but that makes it a little more interesting to drive. Gas mileage is right on target. A few suggestions, see below but really the Element is a great vehicle.

Awesome - 2005 Honda Element
By Rich Love - April 15 - 7:34 pmThe Element is near perfect for my needs. All four seats lay back (flat). The rear seats fold up to the side for open storeage. If that does not make enough room, the rear seats can be removed within two minutes. Also I have not seen so much rear seat leg room since the 1940s. I like having a tailgate too.

Really fun car to drive - 2006 Honda Element
By KevinK - April 13 - 11:09 amWhen looking for my first car, I didnt want to have a "bland" looking vehicle and this is definitely a head-turner. I was wary at first of getitng a manual for an SUV as I had driven others and the clutch always seemed tough. The manual trans on this car was very forgiving and shifting gears was very smooth. There was plenty of power available. The interior design was wonderful and ive never seen as much rear legroom for the rear seat. Overall great car.

The SUV that could. - 2005 Honda Element
By Dave - April 12 - 1:56 amThis is a fun vehicle. The salesman told me that they sell most of their Elements to over 40 crowd. I am 50ish.This is a great all round vehicle, that does not have the foul carpet smell from wet snow.

Best value/gas economy of AWD - 2004 Honda Element
By Element Owner 5M - April 10 - 10:00 amLooking for an AWD to handle any road/weather, but cant stand typical SUV mileage? Nothing beats the Element for this, and living with it offers continued pleasant surprises. 5sp Manual offers incredible torque and merging power, but the chasis still wins the show. Suicide doors and clamshell tailgate hatch with flat floor back and "hangable"/removable seats makes this the hauling vehicle. Still it seats four comfortably in style. The jeep-like stubby looks adds to my appeal of it and the ease of keeping clean is another bonus. Best for price, performance and features (AWD, anti-lock, side airbags, 24/28mpg. Plus its Honda quality & made in USA.

By Neal - April 10 - 8:45 amWe got this car over a year age and its been a great car, Lots of headroom and legroom and really fun to own and drive. Everybody that looks at it wants to testdrive one and asks lots of questions. It has plenty of power and great looks too. We own a Pilot and the Element and love them both. I would never buy anything else but Honda.

Awsome Work Vehicle - 2005 Honda Element
By Rivak Hoffman - March 29 - 7:30 pmMy 2005 Element is my work vehicle. I travel approx 200 miles per day as a mobile Personal Trainer. The Element easily stores all my equipment in it, and things are easy to get to. The only negative is the gas mileage. Highway is approx 21 mpg and city is 18 mpg. With the 12 gallon tank you can go 250 miles before fill-up Other than that, this vehicle is an awesome eye opener! And you feel very safe in it. The car represents to future of SUVs
