Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

  • Does it all - 2004 Honda Element

This vehicle does it all! Ive used it for commuting-long distance traveling - camping and hauling. The gas mileage isnt bad for a larger vehicle (23) hwy. The ride is smooth and the transmission the same. I recommend it to anyone wanting an all-purpose vehicle.

  • RIP the "great pumpkin" - 2003 Honda Element

I had a wonderful time with my orange 2003 Element. The combination of reasonable fuel economy (for an SUV), a large amount of carrying space and versatility made for a great experience. Great for passengers and cargo alike. Im really going to miss putting my bikes and kayak in the back of it. Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to it as I recently experienced a rollover accident, and the car is totaled. **It held up very well under the circumstances**. The car did a complete rollover and landed on its tires. I was lucky, plus wearing a seatbelt, and walked away without injury.

First new car that I have ever bought. Love the ride, however, it is a little choppy. But feature for feature, dollar for dollar, with the honda name behind the vehicle, it is a great value that my wife and I are sure to enjoy for quite a while.

  • Outside Vehicle - 2005 Honda Element

If you like the outdoors and want a vehicle that is made for fun...get an Element. For small SUVs the mileage is good and it is very spacious. Versatality is the word for the Element, tranform it according to want/need. The easy clean inside is perfect for camping, dogs, kids, fishing, kayaking, and other outdoors activity you enjoy. Take it for a spin...

I love my ELEMENT but.. BEWARE...2 ISSUES. 1. I drive on a busy interstate everyday and my windshield looks sandblasted. Other vehicles I have driven on the same highway never pitted so easily. There are also 2 cracks in each of the lower corners of the windshield that are apparently a defect in the mounting surface that HONDA published a TSB for the problem. 2. COMPOSITE PANELS WILL START TO PIT AND DETERIORATE IF YOU DRIVE IN SNOWY AREAS WHERE ROAD SALT IS COMMON! I washed my ELEMENT all the time during this past winter and the bottoms of the composite panels around the wheels still started to pit very badly from the corrosive rock salt!

  • Great small SUV - 2006 Honda Element

Great small SUV! The Element is fun to drive, feels sturdy, has a fairly smooth ride (no rattles) with little road noise. This SUV covers all of your basic needs and more, so far has been reliable, and is well worth the inexpensive price!

  • Just what I needed - 2004 Honda Element

So far my Element has been a joy to own and drive. Zero mechanical problems ever. Extremely easy to keep clean. A work of art for the amount of room inside compared to its overall size. I like the brakes they work like I think brakes should work. Simply finding my element in a very large parking lot is no problem. There it is over there, the funny looking one. I love it!! Its been one of the best vehicles ever owned.

  • Terrific Value - 2005 Honda Element

We are extremely happy with our Element. Its great in snow and high winds. It turns incredibly tight. It has great visibility and is very negotiable. Since we have a baby and two big dogs, I also like its loading practicality and ease of cleaning. This Element is my third Honda, after owning a Civic and an Accord. Im a big fan of Honda engineering, and the Element doesnt disappoint in this regard. The brakes, as usual, are terrific. Nothing breaks. After 26k miles, Ive had no repairs to make, and only paid out about $100-- all for regularly scheduled oil changes. The mileage is respectable, too. Im getting 26-28 on the highway. I commend this car to anyone who compares it to others.
