Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

I use my Element because I sell industrial maintenance products. It is the ideal salesmans car. But the gas mileage is terrible, very disappointing

  • Ulility & Function in Form - 2006 Honda Element

This SUV is I feel the only correctly named machine in the SUV market. Like the Range rovers of the past these are purpose built no frills and reliable.

  • The best - 2006 Honda Element

My parents got the element this year and despite the fact that it costs a lot it was well worth the money. Weve owned subarus for 5 years before and none of them have better performed than this car. I love this car with all the space and the clean up is a breeze. It takes me a quarter of the time to clean this car out than it does our other car.

  • Quite the SUV! - 2003 Honda Element

It is a pleasure to drive. It has excellent control, decent acceleration for an SUV, and a turning radius that can get you through any tight parking situation or do a fast three point turn. The only problem is that the wind can often blow the car off course during highway driving. This is rather dangerous and you therefore have to keep your speeds way down on windy days. It is due to the cars aerodynamic (or lack of one) design and therefore most likely unfixable in later models.

The car is extremely versatile and roomy. Needs some option for the interior; carpet, upgraded upholstery etc...

  • Great Achievement - 2004 Honda Element

The experience of owning an Element cannot be overlooked. It is the perfect vehicle for active lifestyles, raising two children, or just going on a road trip. Plenty of room for all. The 4wd model we purchased has been tested here in East Texas. It pulls my bass boat with ease. It handles rough lake roads and is excellent in heavy rains and snow. We have put 11,000 miles on the vehicle in 5 months. The Honda engineers have simply done wonders with the overall design. We tested just about every SUV on the market before we test drove the Element. We havent looked back ever since. We are contemplating the purchase of another 04 EX as well.

  • Its A Great Vehicle For The $ - 2004 Honda Element
    By -

Traded in a 2002 Toyota Avalon XLS with a ton of options -- at age 52 I was bored with it. After seeing a few Elements on the road, reviewing consumer comments around the Net I bought one without even test driving the darn thing. I love this vehicle. Many (most) will laugh and snicker at first sight, but after they realize its a Honda and see the inside, they known then the laugh is on them.

  • Great Room - 2004 Honda Element
    By -

Im a big guy, 66", 240 lbs, this vehicle has more room in it for me than the F150 supercrew I had. It a kick to drive, gets good gas mileage, and provides plenty of room to haul things. The hardest thing to get use to is everyone looks at it funny and ask lots of questions. I know it was intended for the younger crowd, but this 50s guy sure enjoys it.

It starts quck, is silent, has 7 speakers and accessible huge cargo space with removable seats, urethane floors for great cleaning. great mileage 3 fills/993 miles. Easy waxing with beautiful paint and protectant is used on outside vinyl and interior. Electric Windows and locks with shading for inside cooling and shade to the outside. I love the higher shift gear on the coloumn and comfort especially with waterproff seats anf floor. Buy One, you wont be sorry.

Extremely functional. Great all weather vehicle, goes well in snow. Interior is very roomy with excellent headroom. You get the feeling you are in a vehicle twice the size. The fabric and floor wipe clean with just a wet rag or sponge. This is by far the most versital vehicle I have ever owned.
