Model Overview:

Sold from 2003-'11, the Honda Element compact crossover SUV remains one of the most distinctive and practical vehicles on the road. Happy Element owners are often city dwellers who appreciate both its small size and generous 75-cubic-foot maximum cargo capacity. Another notable element about the Element is the ability of its access-style rear doors to pivot backward a full 90 degrees, providing unimpeded access to the roomy and creatively configurable rear seats.

A used Element of any vintage is easy to recommend thanks to its functional interior, smooth four-cylinder engine and carlike handling, not to mention Honda's reputation for reliability. That said, it's worthwhile to focus your search on 2007 and newer models, as they offer a bit more power and enhanced safety features.

Although some of my friends think its ugly, I think it is awesome. The design is love it or hate it, but the utility of this vehicle has no comparison. We take it surfing, to Home Depot, to the clubs, to the grocery store, and even on some road trips.

To whom this may concern: First of all, after owning 20 cars since high school, my New Honda Element, EX 2wd, has to be the best car Ive ever had the oportunity to own/drive, show off! I live in Newport Beach, on Balboa Island. The popularity of the Element is really starting to show, The first of Feb, I was one of only two Element owners, here on the island, now its hard to keep up with all the new ones. The look, the "second" looks you get when driving, and all the questions about the rear suicide doors, I havent run into ANYONE who dislikes it. My biggest regret, this car didnt come in RED (bright Honda Red).Keep up the great work at Honda!! TOM

When I bought this car I figured Id only need the storage space every so often but now that I have it I am hauling stuff all the time with ease. I fit a large dining set with 6 chairs in this little guy. The interior is so well thought out. For a compact you have an amazing amount of space. Only thing I could gripe about is the gas milage. Im only getting 16 to 18 mpg. That being said, I am hauling stuff all the time so it isnt too bad. Fun to drive and everyone who checks it out just loves it. Its a little sluggish compared to past cars Ive owned but Id say it has enough get up and go for just about everyone.

I thought this was the most ugly car but all you have to do is drive it! My husband got one and we have taken it to NC from FL 3x so far and it has driven better then any van we have ever owned. There is so much room it is wonderful! Handles great. Husband uses it for work and can get so much stuff in it its amazing! Im waiting for new 07 SC and Im getting one too!

Love my Element. I had a Toyota Tundra limited and traded it in for this baby. My expierience has been great. Comfort, roominess and convenience. Fits all my needs. I got it green and I think its the best color. I have not enjoyed driving until the Element came along, but now. I just cant seem to get out of my Element!

Make sure you test drive this car before you buy! If you haullots its perfect. If for sheer driving pleasure, dont! The stock Wranler tires do a GREAT disservice to the car. The plastic in the car scratches EASY. You have to pamper what you put in or it WILL tear up. Gas mileage with K&N air filter is 24- 25 hwy and 21-22 city. Highway noise comes thru the cabin and the Wrangler tires dont help. Near 90-degree windshield catches rocks, bug etc that would bounce of more streamlined windshield. Engine in very adequate. For lots of cabin space, there seems to be little of for actual driver accessible storage, unless you put stuff on segmented dash-tray. Oil filter crammed in.

So Ive had my element a year now, and have been pleasently pleased with this vehicle. Ive put nearly 30k miles on it in one year driving cross country. I am completely content with it! Easy to clean, works well taking it up to hood to snowboard!

Purchased one week ago. 450 miles so far. First tank of gas resulted in 23mpg in combined city/highway driving. Extremely versatile - Im able to fit my mountain bike inside, standing up, without removing either of the wheels. Excellent "wear proof" seat and floor materials.

What I wanted: Something big enough to haul home stuff from Home Depot, easy to clean so my dog could play in the mud then get in, something people would notice on the street (and believe me they do...continuous comments), a good stereo, company with a good track record... This fits everything and more. Its fun to drive, handles well... if it got 50 mpg Id be in heaven, but it really does get 22/27.

Only filled it one time. Not too thrilled with gas mileage. Seems well thought out. Hauled 22 folding chairs, two folding tables, two folding canopies, and 4 lawn chairs and still had room for more!
